Feathered Friends - A Bit of a Do on the River

I went for a walk around Bakewell and spent a bit of time down by the river. There was a few goings on with the swans. A young cygnet was getting a bit too close to an adult, female swan. Her partner, who was slightly down river took flight to give the cygnet a ticking off!

The couple were reunited but the cygnet was still languishing in the background, looking on.

The love lock bridge is in the background. Rumour has it, the love locks are to be cut off as they are concerned with all the weight. Hope not.

Canada goose basking in the sun. They weren't interested in moving unless you had food.

Even though there is a river down the road, the ducks preferred to sit in the water from a pipe leak!

It's not often I see ducks sat on a wall but this one seemed quite happy, chilling on one leg.

Beautiful shots of the swans!

Thank you very much!

Wonderful photos! All those locks must add a tremendous amount of weight to the bridge. I suppose at some point it would become unsafe.
The duck on the wall is a bit unusual. Great shot!
