Black necked grebe swimming on wild river water

The first time I was able to take some pictures of the black necked grebe was in spring this year and I found this bird swimming on the surface of the Inn River in Upper Austria, it was a day with pretty rough water and this was probably my luck because the bird tried to swim near to the shore of the river so it can get in a bit of calmer water. Unfortunately I only could take pictures of the bird in the non breeding plumage since the breeding plumage is much more interesting, but at least I have it on my list. This pictures where taken this year in February, next winter will visit these spots again and hope I have some luck to find it again.

Since I already took several pictures of the most common birds, it is getting more and more difficult for me to get some pictures of birds that are still missing on my list. Whenever I am able to get a new species on my list I am very happy. :-)
