All treecreepers are small birds with streaked and spotted brown upperparts, rufous rumps and whitish underparts. They have long decurved bills, and long rigid tail feathers that provide support as they creep up tree trunks looking for insects. It is very funny to watch them running up the bark of the trees, because of their good camouflage colored feathers it is a little difficult to spot. But when it is moving you have the chance to find it. At the cemmentary I visit several times a year since it is very close to my home, I can find this bird. It always makes me happy when I see it.

The tree creeper is feeding on ants, spiders and other small insects it collects from the barks of the trees. Conifers are the main tree for this bird which probably has to do something with the bark of the tree that gives the small insects a hiding spot and the tree creeper is picking them with is bent beak from underneath the bark. It can be pretty fast when running up the trees and in combination with the camouflage color this makes it difficult to spot.
With its long toes it can climb up a tree easily. Picture: Florian Glechner.

Oh yes, if a bird sits without moving on a tree, then it will not be possible to see it, it literally merges with the bark of the tree.
Good that they often move to catch spiders and ants.
Gosh it blends in so well, the first picture I could not even see a head!
