On one of my phototrips in Spring 2021 I managed to get some closeup pictures of a nuthatch on a tree. When I looked through the images I thought that the Nuthatch has a very grumpy face on some of these pictures and I found it funny so I show you these pictures today. Nuthatches are omnivorous, eating mostly insects, nuts, and seeds. They forage for insects hidden in or under bark by climbing along tree trunks and branches, sometimes upside-down. They forage within their territories when breeding, but they may join mixed feeding flocks at other times.
In the video the nuthatch is cleaning its feathers.
