Water pipit at Grossglockner

When I visited the Grossglockner this year in Summer I did not only take a lot of pictures of the marmottes and from plants, I also managed to take some really nice pictures of birds too. One of them is the "water pipit" that is breeding up there in the mountains. We had the luck to find a spot where this bird must have had a nest nearby so it was constantly flying and looking for insects to feed the little bird offspring. This bird must have had his nest nearby the spot where we did take several pictures of the marmottes because it kept constantly showing up with new food.

Because it was careful not to expose the nest it was perfect to take some pictures of it waiting on stones before it flew to the nesting spot. Therefore, it was easy to take some photos as it sometimes came really close. This bird was not shy at all. It probably also knew that it had to get some food for the baby birds too. Today i saw some pictures of Humming Birds in Costa Rica and i really got jeallous about this place. I have to visit this beautiful place for bird photography at least once in my life. There are so many beautiful humming birds living in North and South America but unfortunately you can't find them here in Europe. So Costa Rica is on my wish list for travel destinations.

Lucky you! You could take the picture at the right time! What a beautiful feathered friend!💜

She has some babies to feed, such good pictures of this beauty.

Very good photos! 👍I really like the photos where the bird has its prey in its beak.

Good at finding it snack of the day, clever not showing you where she goes either.

Striking pose and photography @florian-giechner

Really awesome pics ...
... what do you think about your Camera?! Nice, One?

Yes my Camera is worth it. I have two. The Nikon D500 mostly used for wildlife shots because of the faster autofocus and the Nikon D5100 that I mostly use for longtime exposure shots and landscapes because the Autofocus is not that good. But still if I only carry one of them with me sometimes I also use this camera for wildlife and vis versa.
