Hello Feathered Friends Lovers,

We have covered parts of bird's body in previous rounds such as beak, wings, bums. How about feet and legs? Did you notice them in more detail? I am asking you to show me

BIRD FEET AND LEGS

The birds being so different in shape and forms have developed their feet so they can run or hop, swim or crawl, grab the prey, perch on twigs and branches.

Let's see what you have in your archive or fresh made shots. What I like to show you as an example is cropped images focused on the legs or feet. You have the same option and do not worry about the quality. The pictures always loose some of the quality when they are cropped. As you can see mine are not an exception.

I have dug deep into my archive as I have never focused on the feet or legs.

I will start with the sparrow. Looking close to its feet, it reminds me of the dinosaurs and yes, the birds are their descendants.

Another small bird with very long claws is the robin. These feet are made to perch and possibly to scrach for food.

Let's move from small to slightly bigger bird - the woodpecker. The feet are designed perfectly to climb vertically on tree trunks. This one is green woodpecker. I am glad that juveniles are seen almost every day in the park.

And since I began with small birds, I will finish with big - the swan. The graceful bird with rather ugly legs and feet, but they do have a purpose. Once in water, the swans are excellent in paddling.

I would appreciate if you can tell more about your photos and remember that one of the rules is to put at least 100 words. Creating quality post attracts curators and you can receive more and bigger votes. Keep that in mind.
