A killer Harrier Hawk arrived.

in Silver Bloggers2 years ago

This guy is famous as he is the only hawk that can climb trees.

He is a big guy and I had to crop the photo, else only a part of him will be shown in the tag picture.

I will show you the dumbest or the bravest squirrel I have ever seen.
Now I know that this post belongs in the #featheredfriends community, but just had to show it here, as then many of you would not have seen it.
So come and have a look.

It is an African Harrier Hawk (Gymnogene) (Polyboroides typus)

Action as he has spotted a meal!

When the feathers on his head rise up it means that he is preparing to strike at a target.

Now just look at this! One of our young squirrels came down to have a look at the hawk. (The squirrel is to the right of the picture)

Hurriedly I stepped out and coughed loudly so that the hawk could see me.

Whoosh, he took off at speed right over my head.

Finally, a Pied crow arrived to escort the hawk out of the area.

I think I will have to have a talk to that squirrel!
I will have to explain the dangers of life to him as here he took his life into his own hands. That Harrier-hawk will lift him to great heights, but it would not be the heights that he was expecting to go to in his life:)
Thankfully, I was around and I will have to keep an eye out for the hawk.
I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

And That's All Friends.
