A happy Kelp Gull (Larus dominicanus) declares his find by screaming; "Stay away china's, this is mine"

We popped down to the ocean in order to get some sunset shots and in the meantime I took a few other photos that you might like. The weather was still rainy, but I knew that clouds would make for a lovely sunset.

Amazing what beauty the waves can leave on the sand!
Inspector Gull was out to see if the fishermen were following the rules 🤣
Some sort of a local religious procession was in action here!
As the light grew darker, this gull was trying for some last minute fly through shopping!
The gulls around the fishing boat also increased, as they knew that night was coming!
Gearing up to go home was this lot!
Even that tiny sail boat at the bottom of the mountain was coming in to the harbor!
I love the cloud that was making its bed on top of the mountain!
Right, this is why we came and I have only posted 2 photos here to save space.
We waited for the full duration of the sunset and I took many photos of it. But that can wait for a full sunset post.
A beautiful feeling of resting peace in my soul in the silence and serenity. Especially after a busy normal day of ocean life.
I love the cloudy days and you can see here why, as they deliver dramatic views in the scenarios.
Like a storm that sets in a troubled soul.

Visits to the beaches are always so calming no matter what the weather is like and capturing sunsets with clouds i find are always dramatic and beautiful as you have shown and i love your seagull stories he scored one beauty of a oyster and definitely wasn't going to share it...lol 😆
Yeah, we are fortunate as we have a huge mountain range at the back of our town and the sea at the front and our house is right in the middle of it all. 6 kilometers to the mountains and 6 kilometers to the sea.
So depending on the weather and of course the clouds, I can go either way for photos.
For instance tonight, I will be waiting at the mountains for the full moon.

Turning toward the mountain that drops over the edge, clouds tumbling soothingly makes a wonderful sight.

I keep on kicking myself for not moving down here when I completed my army stint in Oudtshoorn Lady Joan. But that's water under the bridge and I am now doing the best that I can to catch up for the wasted years.
Once that a person settles down in a place where they feel they they belong, it can make such a big difference in ones life.

Always some regrets pop up later in life, we had many choice options when we were young, alas never took any at the time. So we go and yes water under the bridge keeps flowing...
Oh yeah, the "if only's" abound at certain times, but it's all history and always better to focus on our tomorrows.
