Lovely sights on a Sunday morning.

This is a bird post, but first I want to show you the weather.

No, not a bird, but how I ended up now as I do this post on our study.

It is late afternoon here now in the Western Cape and we had some lovely weather patterns througout the day. I am trying to take things easy, but it's not easy if one is not used to it. Our charity work is very demanding and one has to stay on your toes all of the time.
Sadly it becomes a habit and an unhealthy habit indeed.
But enough said and let's look at the day.

The early morning clouds told me that it was going to be one of those days.

An Ibis Hadeda came cruising over in the dark and I tried to get his silhouette.

Later morning we popped out for some Sunday lunch stuff and I stopped at a public park to get some shots of the mountains.

But as you can see, the light was not good for photography.

So we went back home and I saw Sally in the bird bath.

Back in the study, through the window we saw this little guy collecting furniture for their house.
A surprise as normally the females of other species build the nests.

Not the Cape Sparrows, as his wife sat watching him and I am sure that she was telling him what to collect for their house.
At the exact time that the sun broke through the clouds for a minute, granting me great colors in this shot.

Some of the guys that I know are forever complaining that their wives are chasing them to do things when they are at home. So they rather find excuses like a game of golf and such to stay out of the house.
In the Sparrows case today you can see that the males have the same problem, as their ladies keep a close eye on them.
Maybe I should tip the little Sparrow male to take up golfing hahahah.

And That's All Friends.

Hive Power Up Month - Feedback from Day 15

lol the poor little sparrow looks like he's holding it up for her inspection! Do your little squirrels come up to you often? This is the first time I have seen you hand feed one :)

!PIZZA !ALIVE

Yep, and that's why I want to give the Sparrow some golfing tips, so that he can disappear when she orders him to go shopping for nest furniture :)

Only 2 of the squirrels come to take out of our hands and only one comes into the house.
Their grandmother used to climb up on us and search in our pockets to get nuts.

Here was the one in the house again today.

Awesome :) You must miss her very much ♥️

Try with a baby, and you should have one climbing around again :)

Oh yes we do miss her, but she was a one off as the previous owner of this house, an olad lady, tamed her. The the lady died and we moved in here.

I don't like to tame wild animals, so no, we will not get a baby.

!BEER

Oh, I can understand :) I don't think of that so much as taming though. It's just developing a deeper trust. Taming indicates making them do something that they don't want to. Or domestication. And never say never, sometimes the animal initiates it :)

Eating from our hands is more than enough for me my friend, as that shows trust.

!BEER

True :) But sometimes the animal chooses to want more. We aren't the only curious species :)

Thanks so much for the beer :)
