Our third power cut of the day.

in Feathered Friends2 years ago

Madness I know, but we simply have to cope, so we flee into nature.

Always my home in nature whenever life gets to us.

They have now escalated the power cuts to four per day which leaves us with very little time to do our work. But such is life and we just continue to struggle along. Fortunately at Papillon we are used to struggles and without bragging I can say that we are doing much better than others. Of course we always stand ready to help and life goes on.
Have a look what I got during the power cut.

Mother nature used her own frame for this picture below.

And then of course, the famous king of the sunbirds. The Malachite.

It is such a pleasure to be out in nature as only the birdsong can be heard and it soothes all of our troubles away. This morning, in my previous post, we spent some time on a farm with the new skills training project for young community leaders. Then it was back home to grab some documents and it was off to another meeting just before the second power cut.
During the third power cut, it was our escape into nature when I got the photos that you see in here. Now it is evening and at 10pm the last power cut will take place.

I have tried to show you the sequence of our actions during and in-between the power cuts and it is indeed a totally different way of life. Luckily we were trained in handling difficult situations as we lived in one room at the start of The Papillon Foundation for 7 years with no hot water. Sacrifice is good to keep one's soul prepared for struggles and it leads one in life to cope with the bad and the good situations.
We hope and pray that some relief will soon take place in the situation of the electricity supply.

And That's All Friends.

beautiful captures today.
this one --

maybe was my fave, for its unusual and decorative-ness. !LUV

by the way, this week #smap has the prompt 'family photo', in case you'd love to jump on it.

Thank you and I also liked the way that Mother nature framed that picture.

I normally Twitter the #smap posts as support, but I don't take part in the competitions, as I won it once and felt bad about it, as someone else that have less than I have could benefit more from the prize.
Just my way of life.

let me share an extra !PIZZA with you then.

You are certainly a very giving !PIZZA man.

cause I love to share the best, and !PIZZA definitely is one of the best things in my life. tho ofc I mean for real, and this is just a copy, digital version 😉

Ha, you and my wife will certainly get along as she is also a staunch !PIZZA lover.

Level six .... and counting

But those photos are NEXT level. Love the sunbirds. They are among my favourite of the feathered beauties

Bad news indeed my friend.

Thank you and those 2 are also my favorites of the sunbirds.

You are always in the right place at a late time Mr @papilloncharity.
Really, the bird is very beautiful. You again managed to bring the beauty of nature well to be close to all of us.
Your photography skills are very good.

Is it in all types of birds, the male always has more attractive and contrasting feathers than the female? I'm guessing the one wearing the red necklace is a male bird.

Mother nature is in love with me my friend.
Glad that you liked the photos and I try share the beauty that surrounds us.
Yes, they are males and in bird life it is not the same as in human life, in human life the women are always more beautiful that the males.

Beautiful birds. It sounds like you have many challenges in your work. I hope the power cuts stop soon and don't interrupt your work too much.

Thank you and yes, thankfully we have learned how to beat the challenges. Sadly the power cuts have been happening since 2018 and things have only become much worse lately. So no end in sight yet.
But we soldier on.

Those photos are beautiful, it seems that it was worth the loss of electricity. We have a cyclone alert here and they are warning us that we may run out of power as well. Gracias por compartir @papilloncharity

Thank you milady and sadly our lack of electricity is damaging not only the economy, as it is also a major problem for the people.
I hope that the cyclone will not arrive and all blessings to you.

Hi @papilloncharity. In interruptions of the electrical service we have enough experience here. God allow that to be solved. Blessings to you and yours too.

Hi @elentogether . Oh yes I know that you people also suffer with power cuts.
God is in control and that is always the best hope.
Blessings like always.

have been experiencing this for the last few months and for some reason Johannesburg has been hit harder than normal. Tomorrow if the schedule is correct we will have 2 and one big one as level 6 is only between 4 and 10pm. Natal miss this due to the floods so we all take up the slack and is a team effort. Great photos yet again and you always seem to find the right shots.

Oh yes, I feel for you guys as Johannesburg is certainly struggling. We don't have the big 6 one, as they have roped in the Steenbras dam hydro system to drop the 6 to level 4.
Sadly some areas in Natal is still without power after the bad mudslides. At times I think that this country is really stepping up it's urgency to run into ruin.
Thank you and it's just at the right place at the right time.
