Some animals in the wet!

Look at that cloud behind that Egyptian goose on the lamp post!

When it rains here in the "Cape of Storms" it really rains and the little animals pop out at every break to come and eat.
Here are 3 species of the same doves today and of course two squirrels!

This an African mourning dove that looks like an ordinary Ring-neck dove. Note the red mask on the eye!

Here we have our ordinary Ring-neck dove. No mask on it's eye!

The three to the left are Bronze ringneck doves, and the one at the front right is the ordinary ringneck dove!

Look how wet that palm tree trunk is!

Rushing for some food during a lull in the rain!

Just an ordinary rainy day here and thankfully no gale force winds. Life for these little ones are good, as we keep them fed and at times we do no feeding so that they can remember how to find food in nature. We do this to avoid dependence.
They are all survivors and show us the way how to survive our own problems in life!

We hope that you have liked the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

We could do with some rain here. It's pretty hot, but there's a threat of storms at some point. Good to see the wildlife is active around you. We have been feeding the birds and I ought to get some pictures.

At times I wonder about this global warming story Sir Steve.
Last summer we pitched into the 40-50 degrees Celsius and as our Spring starts next month (September), I wonder what this summer is going to deliver.

Yeah, I also think that you should post some bird shots. #featheredfriends is very good for that.

We've had low 30s lately and that is hot enough. I worry about how the wildlife will cope.

Low 30s are apleasure here Sir Steve.
Yes, we are also worried about the wildlife, but we put fresh cold water out here everyday.
Animals here all share in the birdbath and the blue bucket.

How's this bird lol.

We have those 'birds' around here too.

Hahaha, I bet and time for you to get them on camera Sir Steve!

Animals and birds all disappear during the storms, slowly arriving after collecting food as if nothing had happened. We had strong winds hit us Sunday afternoon into Monday, living on the coast definitely allows the wind to whip up off the sea.

Have an amazing day and thanks for sharing your life today.

Amazing how the little ones endure Lady Joan. But sadly not the small ones, as our young Robin has dissapeared and I think one of these fat cats got him. The geese also lost all of their babies, not one left.

Oh yeah, those winds are certainly something else. It can really howl at night and at times I worry that our roof might take a hike lol. We have now met the wind that they call the "Cape Doctor", a few times and it is not very medically sound hahaha.

May tomorrow be good to you guys!

Too many little baby birds lost in storms, or to cats in a neighbourhood, of late I am sure the monkeys are taking out the nests since we do not have as many as we used to.

Balance in nature, dangers and due to human interference many of the wildlife is battling to cope.

Did you hear that 2019 is officially the hottest year on record Lady Joan?
I am afraid that the cats also invaded the dwarf chameleon bush, as for a while now I haven't seen any, but today was my lucky day, as I found one. It is starting a slow hate for me to cats, but I just cannot hurt them.

Balance in nature seems to have become a thing of the past, as we are exporting billions of tons of coal to Asia.
The excuse is that they are also developing countries and some new mega powerstations are also being built over there. Mankind is really intent on destroying this world.

All coal and plastic should be banned immediately.
That would be my first law if I was the president and I will have a new mega prison built in Sutherland to house all of the corrupt politicians and businessmen. A ideal locattion for the prison, as its annual temperature is 12 degrees Celsius.

But then again, I will never be president hahaha.

Blessings!

Well I hear you, wild cats go through the garden at night and Woody chases them hysterically, sadly they are mostly abandoned cats now gone wild. Monkeys do more harm than the cats here at the moment I think, another lot that don't know when to stop breeding!

Selling off coal when we cannot fire up our own power stations is criminal, but then look who runs the place...

When one witnesses the damage plastics are causing it should have been banned years ago, we were not brought up with these pollutants, over population along with many things that lead one down a path of dismay.

Fortunately we will never stand in a presidency situation, I would have stopped paying youth to have babies long ago, demolish Grant system except for aged and handicapped.

Now what can I say about all of this Lady Joan?

One statement after the other that reflects our daily lives.
I was in a discussion about the river outlets into the sea that bings down tons of garbage from the inland areas.

The same law as the one for the Eskom tower servitudes should be made.
No one to live within 500 meters of a flowing river. Can you imagine what havoc such a law would create for both the rich and the poor?

All houses already built on or near the rivers should have a littering prevention plan and license.
With a R20,000 fine for non compliance.

Shacks will simply be removed and placed in other areas with services.
Littering of any kind will be subjected to a R2000 fine or 1 year in prison.
Illegal dumping will result in vehichle confiscations and a R50,000 fine.

With the way that things are standing right now, the fines would soon pay a stipend of R3000 per month for a plethora of unemployed, volunteer river inspectors to monitor the rivers in every town and township.
Bonuses will be paid for successful convictions.

If only my friend, as we simply have to save ourselves from ourselves!

Wonderful birds live with you! Great photo!

Thank you @ratel, we have many more birds here and I will post as many as I can when Spring starts next month.
Glad that you liked the photos!

Beautiful Doves and cute Squirrel nice how they all get on 👍

Hahaha, yeah, we have our own private wild zoo here my friend.

Sounds like the perfect atmosphere for all 😊

Oh yeah, we are happy here my friend!

Good to hear 👍

Wonderful comparison of the different doves that you have there. We had some bad storms go through a few days ago and the tornado sirens were going off to warn everyone that a tornado has been sighted. There was no nearby damage, and I knew that the threat had passed when the birds all came back to the feeders. Thanks for posting to #featheredfriends!

Thank you my friend.
Wow, we don't have tornado's here, only very severe storms.
So what do you guys do when the sirens start screaming? Do you have a safe room or a bunker to go to?

If we had to have tornado's, I would build a concrete cube under our house to escape into during the storm.

Blessings and thank you for the kind tip.

Tornados are usually very selective... One house might be reduced to splinters and the neighbors could have no damage at all. Actually, I have encountered just that. A bad storm at my house, only to find out later that homes 1/2 mile up the road were completely destroyed and I had no idea! . The sirens go off anytime a tornado has been sighted within many miles and the odds of it coming here are not great. If the wind starts to blow I can go into an interior room with no windows. It's my best option since I am unable to navigate steps.
I am glad that I don't live in the Plains states where they get much more frequent and more powerful tornados..

Scary stuff that you are telling me here milady.
Blessed that your house was not destroyed and that sounds like a nasty experience.
I suppose that the houses that are directly in its way gets the worst. We have seen some pictures and videos of tornados and our gale force winds here are childs play when measured against a tornado.
Glad that you live in a place that is not in their way, but one never knows, as it's better to always be prepared with an escape route.
I don't know why people would choose to live in the Plains states.
Blessings!

There are many Storm Chasers who get right next to a tornado and as long as they are not directly under the funnel they are safe. Flying debris would be the main issue. I suspect many people living in the Plains states have never been affected by a tornado. In recent years there have been some huge storms that have a large footprint on the ground. Those are the scary ones!

Yeah, I just remembered that I followe a stormchaser once, don't know if it was on Tsu or maybe FB.
You are right as the track of a Tornado is not as wide as the storms that we have here in the "Cape of Storms"
It leaves damage that can be seen for miles around!
