This post goes for 'Show me your photo (of a bird)' contest, round #36. We were suggested a fantastic prompt this week, the topic was: 'Bird Eye'. I dont shoot this on a regular basis... so decided to check the very few sets that could have matching stuff. Happily, I do have some!
The first photo is a fieldfare (in Latin: Turdus pilaris), which I met in February this year. I hope to remember that day for a long time, because I was there for the the first round of interviews with my current job ... and fortunately I brought a telephoto lens with me (was it a inspiration? premonition? or just a random luck?). It turned out to be a very happy and rewarding day in many ways. Most of the photos from this set (the most expressive ones) I have already published, but fortunately, I still have a few left in stock. Now, lets look at the same photo with some magnification.

Тот день я запомнил надолго и накрепко, потому что я ходил на первое собеседование с моей текущей работой... и к счастью (по наитию?) захватил с собой телевик. Это оказался очень счастливый и плодотворный день во многих отношениях. Большинство фото из этого сета - самые выразительные - я уже опубликовал, но к счастью, у меня еще осталось несколько в запасе. When I crop the photo and enlarge this part with an eye, then... look carefully: the vertical rulers are street lampposts, and dark spot between them is me, the photographer figurine! I managed to take a selfie unintentionally, albeit its of low quality, and without any details. So much fun!
Eсли обрезать фото и увеличить часть с глазом, то... смотрите внимательно: вертикальные линейки - это уличные светильники, а между ними - моя фигурка! У меня получилось ненамеренно сделать селфи, хотя и невысокого качества и без деталей.
Hardly I can call it an eye contact. Rather, a vice versa! I had a strong feeling this birdie was a bit drunk, hehe. Maybe, fermented barberry berries are to blame - after all, it was already February, the berries have ripened and hung on the branches for so long, they had enough time :) By the way, I took this photo with a 300mm telephoto from a distance of just a meter or so!

Another photo from the old set, which was already published. (Fortunately, this is an alternate take I didnt publish, so this is the first time I post it). I captured it in October 2020 using a 150mm macro telephoto. This young daw let me get very closer! It was sitting on the wall of the local garbage dump in our courtyard, and it was completely unaware that people should be afraid and should not be allowed within the distance of a successful photo-shot. This knowledge is developed in birds a little later, when they are already older than yearlings.
Еще одно фото из старого сета, который я уже публиковал. (К счастью, это дубль, эту фотографию я публикую в первый раз). Сфотографировано в октябре 2020 года, при помощи телефото 150мм. Этот молодой галчонок подпустил меня еще ближе! Он сидел на стенке, огораживающей местную помойку в нашем дворе, и совершенно был не в курсе, что людей следует бояться и не подпускать на расстояние удачного фото-выстрела. Это знание вырабатывается в птицах чуть позже, когда они уже старше, чем годовасики.

And now we coming to the coda, peak, climax - you name it.
Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaam! Pigeons again.
Look at this malady-pink manic eye. Does it need any more comments? I guess it just speaks for itself! This was captured with my unremarkable 300mm Canon telephoto lens at the local park, near the small bird feeding station (which pigeons have occupied, privatized, seized, besieged - I find it difficult to find the exact word. Perhaps all this at the same time!

Фото сделано моим не выдающимся телеобъективом Canon 300мм в местном парке, в уголке с птичьими кормушками для синиц и щеглов... которые голуби оккупировали, приватизировали, захватили, осаждают - затрудняюсь подобрать единственное точное слово. Возможно, всё это одновременно!
Ok, I changed my mind. This photo will be the last one. ("A brilliant click", as they say). I was fortunate enough to meet this rare species of Grebe - meet the Terminator Grebe! And you better dont come any closer, hehe.

А глаз увеличился практически без потери качества! Классненько.
то что ягод наелся - это совершенно точно! я такое про свиристелей читал, что иногда покушают калинки перебродившей прям на ветках - и летают по небу аки бешеный теннисный мячик, туда-сюда. но это про свиристелей. про рябинников не в курсе, повторяют ли они такой паттерн. но по моему чисто субъективному ощущению - птичка была очень даже того-с! ну кто иначе подпустит так близко, на метр ?! я даже не выкручивал телевик на 300мм, подошел близко и нагло фоткал в упор. а спустя 5-6 кадров, дрозд из последних сил собрал силы, и перелетел... на соседнюю ветку, еще на метр - дальше не смог, сил не хватило, хехе. согласись - напоминает состояние человека... который тоже обессилел, организм перерабатывает спирт, и ему больше ни до чего :)))
и девчонок уже не надо. :)
ну, точно не знаю... но вообще - он был на том кусте абсолютно один одинешенек, без пары - это могу сказать совершенно точно! что по всей видимости, косвенно подтверждает ваш вывод!

спасибо. но на самом деле, это 'leftovers' из предыдущих, уже опубликованных сетов. ничего особенно нового я не показал. но, соглашусь, получилась приятная подборка! причем, отнюдь не всё это снято на телевик 300 мм - кое что снято и на 150 мм, то есть, не самое крутое увеличение, спасибо птичкам, которые подпускают к себе!
Стала искать птичек у себя. Есть эпизод с любопытной галкой у бара. Даже подпускала довольно близко, но на телефоне качество обидное получилось. Так жалко! Возможно, позже что-нибудь напишу и опубликую, с "реверансами".
увы, законы оптики на кривой козе не объедешь 🙃
нужен, нужен в хозяйстве телевик - выражение птичьих морд ли разглядывать, или детали архитектурных излишеств на стенах средневековых замков. купите хотя бы назадку на телефон какую нибудь хорошую ?.. и ваше дерево возможных решений сразу заколосится и пойдет в рост! и принесет вкусные плоды )))
Вот оклемаюсь после ковида, и надо будет заняться. Пока еще не выползла, хотя и больше полугода прошло. Сильно подкосил. Штука серьезная, так что берегите себя и близких.

Terrific photos @qwerrie! I love that you captured the reflection in Fieldfare's eye! My favorites are the young Daw and the Grebe! The Grebe is such a beautiful bird and has a very interesting eye. I'm glad you changed your mind and decided to add it at the end! 💖

Lol.. some love indeed! I don't see them as much nowadays. I used to work and live in the city and saw them so much. I knew people that raised racers and rollers. Interesting birds but can't beat the Grebe on looks. 😁

the fieldfare is awesome... the very top of the list and a great expanation why birdwatching is a cool thing to do. the daw, the grebe, lovely, lovely. and three new words in my vocabulary. 😎
the pigeon ..... Today, I was getting off the bike having a bag with bread in my hand, when a flock of pigeons decided I wanted to feed them and rushed at me raising clouds of dust infected with botulism and salmonellosis... The only thing I could do was closing my mouth tight, closing eyes, and turning my back towards that bacteriological attack... ...Don't remind me about pigeons please... 😁

yes, a bacteriological attack indeed. that why (as far as I know) feeding pigeons is considered a crime in some areas... for example, at Helsinki. my own daughter has already suffered, the tenants of our house in June gave her a hard reprimand for feeding the pigeons from the window ... thats not unique, but a common problem! - let me treat you with a !PIZZA, my friend. you can consume it with some digital !BEER, or sell this token at the internal market. cheers!
