in Feathered Friends2 years ago

Thank you @nelinoeva for the next stage of the competition!
And the theme of this week was - BIRD ON ROCK/STONE

The ruff (Calidris pugnax)
A small flock of pinocchios roamed the rocks on the river.

The Eurasian teal (Anas crecca)
And these young ducklings lined up on a small lake and dried their feathers after they swam.

The common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
At the intersection of two rivers, I saw this shorty. Usually kingfishers sit looking out for fish on separate branches of bushes. But for some reason this one decided that it was more convenient on the stones.

The little stint (Calidris minuta)
In the middle of autumn, far outside the city, I met a small flock of these nimble shorties. They walked very quickly among the stones in search of insects.

The white wagtail (Motacilla alba)
A very strange wagtail with a certain mutation caught some kind of flying insect. But she didn’t eat it, but walked on the stones, and it was obvious that she was carrying it to the fledglings.

And here is the fledgling of the white wagtail.

The little ringed plover (Charadrius dubius
Well, this is a well-known lover of walking in short dashes along the rocky banks of rivers. He will run a little, stop to look around, and then take a few steps again.
