☝In most birds, sexual dimorphism is pronounced, that is, there are clear differences between the male and the female. Males are bright, elegant, beautiful. And the females are inconspicuous, faded and secretive. They do not need to be bright and noticeable, because they hatch eggs on nests and they need to be the most secretive.
The common chaffinch or simply the chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)
Agree, the female is somewhat reminiscent of an ordinary sparrow. Same brown with gray color.
The Eurasian golden oriole (Oriolus oriolus)
The male is completely bright yellow, while the female's underbody is white.
The common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus)
Males are very bright orange, and when they see danger, they jump out of the bushes, diverting attention to themselves, thereby taking the danger away. But the females are very modest and inconspicuous.
The Siberian stonechat or Asian stonechat (Saxicola maurus)
The females of these birds are real hard workers! It is they who build the nest while the male guards the territory.
The white-backed woodpecker (Dendrocopos leucotos)
The females of these woodpeckers lost their red cap on their heads.
The Eurasian three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus)
The same applies to these woodpeckers. Females have lost the main highlight of this species - the yellow cap
The Eurasian bullfinch, common bullfinch or bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula)
I love these cute fluffy chubby ones. Interestingly, in gray bullfinches, females look exactly the same as in this species.
The common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)
What, sparrow again? No, although it is very similar. Unlike pink males, females cannot be told their age by plumage.

Such a great variety of female birds. The woodpeckers are my favourite and these two particularly I haven't seen yet. 🙂
