Flocks of these noisy birds can be easily spotted in city parks in winter. They sit on rowan bushes and eat the whole berries.
And with the arrival of spring, flocks slowly begin to fly off to nesting sites.
Their nesting sites are sparsely populated and inaccessible places in the north of the continent, right near the Arctic Circle. Because of their such a long migration flight, the birds fly for a long time. Therefore, even in May, they can still be found in our forests. Which is what I do every year.
In these photos, a small flock of 6 birds was sitting on the treetops, basking in the sun and relaxing.
In Central Europe is only winter season for Waxwings.
I've been thinking I should plant a couple rowan trees this fall.
