Eh, I still have no luck with these birds! There is absolutely no way to make high-quality photos. These birds are either far away or fly away when they see me.
Every spring they sometimes rest on the shores of one lake near the river, but it is very far away to photograph them. And every autumn, during migration, they fly along the banks of a large city river, and they can be seen on the banks. Unfortunately, sailing fishermen on boats often frighten them.

Какие большие окорока. :)

Удивительно, как всё сложено аккуратно чтобы создавать, как можно меньшее сопротивление при полёте. Природа однако.

It is really funny with these birds, on some places they are shy as hell and if they see you from 1000 meters or more they are already fleeing, and it is impossible to get close enough for a picture. But on other spots I know, they don't really care about humans, and I was able to get several nice pictures of them.

I think It really depends heavily on the fact that these birds were hunted down on several places and therefore are shy as hell. And on other places nobody hunted them and they are not afraid of humans at all.

They are very tricky to photograph at times, especially if they fly far overhead!
