🦉 The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)

📚 Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
📚 flava flavus (lat.) yellow, gold, golden yellow

These birds, unlike their close relatives - white wagtails, you will not meet in the city. These birds are typical inhabitants of wide open spaces such as fields and meadows, and occasionally the coast.
I love to visit such places every beginning of May. There is still no tall grass and dense thickets, and you can move in any direction, moreover, in the middle of a monochromatic
environment, these bright birds can be easily and clearly seen.

Birds are not very afraid of people, so you can safely approach them at a reasonable distance and observe their behavior. At this time, they spend the mating season, the males look after the female, build nests, catch insects, and simply fly from one place to another.
