For this #featheredfriends post, I wanted to share a few photos of my favorite water bird that likes to haunt this area. That bird is the Great Blue Heron; it's a beautiful bird and stands out when you look out on the Mississippi River and its backwaters.
The Great Blue Heron is iconic in this area. While out and about, you have no idea how many families love to stop and watch these birds slowly creep along in the shallow waters...always a fun sight to see.

Lovely captures of the bird. The Great Blue Heron is one of my favorite birds. They visit here in Prince Edward Island, Canada in the warmer months and migrate South in the fall.
My sense is that I was one of them at one point (long ago, with reincarnation, of course) -beautiful kings of the marsh
