Here are a few flying Canadian geese by the lake.
Honk honk honk, they kick up a bunch of noise as they descend into the grassy area by the lake.
Towards the evening is the best time to catch these guys incoming. I suspect they like to sleep in the bushes near this lake.
Multiple groups often fly in. The geese on the ground start honking loudly at the ones in the air. They are probably yelling "come join the fun over here guys".
Here's a big group on the grass. They love grazing nonstop on grass. The only problem is you have to watch where you step, goose poop everywhere.
Here's a few more incoming. You can see their mouths open from honking.
The guy on top looks to be in the slipstream of the one on the bottom. I wonder if any of these geese are from the two families that grew up near the lake?
Really nice photos of them!
They are abundant here and the people walking their dogs manage to scare them up in the air for photos.
Beautifully capture! They look so good these geese!
They have it easy here, no hunters or predators with plenty of grass to eat.
They would not survive more than an hour in the countryside here!! Good source of protein for villagers!! LoL
That is exactly what my Russian coworker said lol.
Hahaha! He knows very well!!
Don’t tell these geese!
For some reason the Americas don't really cook goose that much like in europe and Asia. Duck is even rare to find here. Maybe its because we have turkeys instead lol.
Spectacular photos! They have good landing protocol and seem to make perfect landings. I love watching them come down! They certainly can create a ruckus!
!tip
I saw one fly in an aim his head right at the tailfeathers of one in the pond then he bit. That created a huge ruckus.
Hahaha! I have had such fun watching all the baby blue jays that are around right now. They do similar silly things and create quite a ruckus amongst themselves. They are quite the Mischief Makers. They even get the woodpeckers fired up!
I'm sure it is nonstop noise, you can hear a family of bluejays from a mile away.
My daughter was here on Thursday and was feeding peanuts to the Chipmunks and the Blue Jays were sitting in the tree watching her and afraid to come down and get one for for themselves. They were shouting and shouting and shouting. She kept telling them to shut up and come get a peanut, but they were not brave enough. Noisy indeed!
The Mexican Jays down in Arizona are way less timid they will fly down and take food out of your hand. I also saw some gray jays at crater lake that were really tame like that too.
I wish these guys were less wary. That would be fun!
