Paulina the little owl.
She was a pretty pigeon when she let herself be seen in the afternoons perched on the neighborhood fences. She still didn't go hunting because she was small, so her parents fed her. Although she was brought meat from her parents she was not sure if she was a diurnal and vegetarian bird or the opposite. That's why she really enjoyed flying around the houses a little and being seen by everyone, longing to be a kind of pet for the neighbors. They enjoyed seeing and photographing her, because of how rare it was to see her when there was still light and because of how tender she looked. But, after a few months Paulina grew up and one day her parents didn't bring her food, to encourage her to look for it herself. She was no longer able to continue with her short flights visiting the neighborhood because she had to go hunting, but she still had a habit of being seen and photographed by the neighbors. So, as she was hungry, she caught the first prey that came close to her, almost at the same time that one of her friends was approaching with the camera. And the inevitable happened: the man focused and shot her.... woops!, they caught her red-handed, and they no longer saw her as a cute young owl.
She seems to be doing pretty well for herself. I initially read that "shot" as a different type of shot

The owl beat me to it
How tasty it is to fly in the heights and feel free and powerful, here I am the king, the clouds and the sky are my domain. But what do I see down there, for you know I have an eagle's eye view... a rat moving through the grass, it's alive and I've worked up a voracious appetite. And the great bird begins to glide with its wings outstretched, the mountains begin to look closer and bigger before its eyes and it almost touches the ground.
But it stops suddenly in its flight, something happens.
"But what has that rat done to himself? Try to keep an eye on him, where could he be?"
But the owl has beaten him to it and in its beak it has the little rat , easy prey and sure food.
"It can't be, what bad luck, well, another time I'll have to be more attentive. Bon appetit, my owl friend!".
What else can you do but settle. What do you think of this dear friend @actioncats?
