En días recientes decidimos hacer una salida familiar, algo sencillo donde los costos fueses bajos y pudiéramos pasar un rato ameno, nosotros como padres lo necesitábamos para quitarnos un poco el stress, y los niños para divertirse y pasarla bien. Afortunadamente en nuestro estado han surgido con el tiempo varias opciones donde poder ir para entretenerse, pero usualmente siempre vamos a los mismos parques, esta vez queríamos probar algo nuevo.
In recent days we decided to do a family trip, something simple where the costs were low and we could have a good time, we as parents needed it to get rid of some stress, and the kids needed it to have fun and a good time. Fortunately in our county have emerged over time several options where you can go to be entertained, but usually we always go to the same parks, this time we wanted to try something new.
Fue así que nos dimos cuenta que no íbamos a la playa desde hace mucho tiempo, lo más irónico de todo es que la tenemos muy cerca, a escasos 40 minutos de nuestra ciudad en la ciudad de Puerto Cabello, para quien no conoce, se encuentra en el estado Carabobo, Venezuela. Es una ciudad costera donde funciona uno de los puertos comerciales del país, pero también posee varias playas y sitios de esparcimiento para hacer turismo o simplemente para pasarla bien, entonces decidimos ir además porque mi esposa es nacida en esta ciudad.
So we realized that we had not been to the beach for a long time, the most ironic of all is that we have it very close, just 40 minutes from our city in the city of Puerto Cabello, for those who do not know, is located in the state of Carabobo, Venezuela. It is a coastal city where one of the commercial ports of the country operates, but also has several beaches and recreational sites for sightseeing or just to have a good time, then we decided to go because my wife was born in this city.
Puerto Cabello
Al ser mi esposa de esta ciudad, su emoción era muy grande, francamente no íbamos a la playa desde hace mucho tiempo, pero luego de pensar detenidamente recordamos que mi pequeña hija que tiene 6 años no conocía la playa, convirtiéndose entonces en el principal motivo de nuestro viaje. Fue así que, sin pensarlo más, y con una preparación bastante sencilla, agua, un par de refrescos, algunas chucherías y unos sándwich nos fuimos a la playa.
My wife being from this city, her excitement was soo hype, frankly we had not been to the beach for a long time, but after thinking carefully we remembered that my little daughter who is 6 years old did not know the beach, becoming then the main reason for our trip. So, without further thought, and with a fairly simple preparation, water, a couple of soft drinks, some knick-knacks and some sandwiches we went to the beach.
Playa La Rosa
Puerto cabello tiene muchas playas aptas para bañarse, no todas son de blancas arenas y aguas cristalinas como otras playas de mi país, pero son bastante buenas, aunque la mayoría tiene un fuerte oleaje, con la excepción de las islas como isla larga, o Yapascua que tiene un rompeolas. Luego de pensarlo un rato, decidimos ir a playa La Rosa, es privada, debes pagar 5 dólares para entrar porque cuenta con duchas y baños para asearse al momento de partir, también es bastante segura porque es resguardada por la marina venezolana.
Puerto cabello has many beaches suitable for swimming, not all of them have white sands and crystal clear waters like other beaches in my country, but they are quite good, although most of them have a strong swell, with the exception of the islands like isla larga, or Yapascua that has a breakwater. After thinking about it for a while, we decided to go to La Rosa beach, it is private, you must pay 5 dollars to enter because it has showers and toilets to wash up when leaving, it is also quite safe because it is guarded by the Venezuelan navy.

La playa tiene un fuerte oleaje, así que les pedimos a los niños que se bañaran en la orilla a el alcance de nuestra vista, solo íbamos a estar algunas horas porque llegamos a eso de las 10 de la mañana, y no queríamos que se insolaran. Yo personalmente lo que deseaba era un tiempo para relajarme, si pensé en bañarme un rato, pero lo que mas me imaginaba era sentarme un rato, sentir la arena con los pies, y la brisa de mar que a mi siempre me relajaba mucho, quería un tiempo para desconectarme del mundo y las preocupaciones, y lo mejor que fue un día de semana con poca gente.
The beach has a strong swell, so we asked the kids to swim on the shore within our sight, we were only going to stay a few hours because we arrived at about 10 am, and we didn't want them to get insolarized. What I personally wanted was some time to relax, I did think about swimming for a while, but what I most imagined was to sit for a while, feel the sand with my feet, and the sea breeze that always relaxes me a lot, I wanted some time to disconnect from the world and the worries, and the best thing was that it was a weekday with few people.

Los muchachos la pasaron muy bien, se enterraron en la arena, mi hija menor estaba fascinada, fue toda una experiencia para ella, le encanta mucho el agua, sacarla de la ducha es todo un proceso, imaginaran como fue sacarla de la playa. Francamente llegue renovado a casa, fue un viaje relámpago, un tanto improvisado, de esos que no piensas mucho, pero super necesario para despejar la mente, algo así como un reseteo para hacer frente nuevamente a nuestra rutina del día a día. Quedamos con muchísimas ganas de volver, especialmente a otros sitios de Puerto Cabello que han sido renovados y dispuestos para el esparcimiento, así que pronto les contare otra de nuestras aventuras familiares en esta ciudad.
The kids had a great time, they buried themselves in the sand, my youngest daughter was fascinated, it was a whole experience for her, she loves water, taking her out of the shower is a whole process, you can imagine how it was to take her out of the beach. Frankly I arrived home renewed, it was a whirlwind trip, somewhat improvised, one of those that you don't think much, but super necessary to clear the mind, something like a reset to face our daily routine again. We are looking forward to returning, especially to other places in Puerto Cabello that have been renovated and arranged for recreation, so soon I will tell you another family adventures in this city.
Hola Daniel, es sorprendente como nos pasa que tenemos la playa muy cerca y nos cuesta ir hasta que nos damos cuenta que han pasado muchos años desde la ultima vez, aun no conozco las playas de Puerto Cabello soy del oriente del país y tenemos bastante playa por aca😂 que bueno que tu niña haya podido conocer la playa, se ve que disfrutaron bastante, saludos.😉

Las playas del oriente son espectaculares, viví un tiempo en varias ciudades allá que me permitió conocer Mochima, playa Medina, playa Colorada, buena parte de las de Margarita y quedé encantado. Por acá tenemos las de Falcón también relativamente cerca que son espectaculares, como los cayos de Chichiriviche, pero como bien señalas, las ocupaciones y circunstancias a pesar de que estemos cerca, parece que nos las colocarán cada vez más lejos.
Ah ok, I'm glad you already know these beaches, they are spectacular, I hope it won't be another seven years before you come back.
