Hola a todos, espero que su viernes vaya increible y tengan muchos planes para el fin de semana. De nuevo yo por aquí contandoles otra de mis aventuras pero esta vez un poco más tranquila. Se trata de un cumpleaños al estilo venezolano, con comida venezolana, música venezolana pero con la compañia de gente colombiana. José estaba cumpliendo sus 28 años y para celebrar quería que fuese especial y muy bonito, con tres de las cosas que más le gustan.
Hello everyone, I hope your Friday is going amazing and you have many planes for the weekend. Here again I am telling you another one of my adventures but this time a little calmer. It is a Venezuelan-style birthday, with Venezuelan food, Venezuelan music but with the company of Colombian people. José was turning 28 and to celebrate he wanted it to be special and very beautiful, with three of the things he likes the most.
Estoy agradecida porque tuve la ayuda de personas maravillosas. Antes de comenzar a ordenar, cocinar y servir. Salí a dos tiendas de decoración y compré lo necesario para decorar para un cumpleaños de hombre; azul y dorado fué una excelente elección. Un globo con helio, mantel, el arco de feliz cumpleaños, serpentina, platos, vasos y tenedores le daba el toque final a la deliciosa comida que serviriamos y las deliciosas tortas que nos acompañaban.
I am grateful because I had the help of wonderful people. Before you start ordering, cooking and serving. I went out to two decoration stores and bought what was necessary to decorate for a man's birthday; blue and gold was an excellent choice. A helium balloon, tablecloth, happy birthday bow, serpentine, plates, glasses and forks gave the final touch to the delicious food that we would serve and the delicious cakes that accompanied us.
Así que para calentar motores, compramos unas cervezas y con eso comenzó el proceso de preparación de la comida. Primero aliñamos la carne para hacer bolitas de carne fritas y por otro lado amasamos harina para hacer las arepas dulces fritas y acompañarlas con un excelente jamon endiablado venezolano con mayonesa venezolana y un poco de salsa de tomate, queriamos comprar otras cosas más para comer como pasapalo pero fuimos pocas personas así que con esta delicia fué suficiente.
So to warm up, we bought a few beers and with that the food preparation process began. First we seasoned the meat to make fried meat balls and on the other hand we kneaded flour to make the fried sweet arepas and accompanied them with an excellent Venezuelan deviled ham with Venezuelan mayonnaise and a little tomato sauce, we wanted to buy other things to eat as a snack but we were few people so this delight was enough.
La señora Lilly fué mi ayudante especial y ella se encargó de aliñar y amasar, yo estaría pasandole ingredientes, limpiando, lavando platos y recogiendo puesto que queriamos tener todo listo para cuando llegara el cumpleañero y así fué, todo estaba listo cuando el llegara con Daniela, nuestra amiga de san cristobal tambien y por supuesto su novio Juan quien es de Medellín y estaba encantado con nuestras preparaciones.
Mrs. Lilly was my special helper and she was in charge of dressing and kneading, I would be giving her ingredients, cleaning, washing dishes and tidying up since we wanted to have everything ready for when the birthday boy arrived and so it was, everything was ready when he arrived with Daniela , our friend from San Cristobal too and of course her boyfriend Juan who is from Medellín and was delighted with our preparations.
Apenas llegaron comenzamos a comer y fué muy bueno porque para ser sinceros teniamos hambre, todos teniamos mucho tiempo sin comer arepas con jamón endiablado así que lo esperabamos con ansias. Para cantar el cumpleaños, teniamos dos tortas. Una de ellas era de todo fresa y su sabor era de Baileys, una de las favoritas de José y la otra era una tres leches con oreo que también estaba increible de una tienda llamada Fiona ubicada en el centro comercial Santa Fé, Ambas nos hicieron la noche tan dulce y son las favoritas de José.
As soon as they arrived we started eating and it was very good because to be honest we were hungry, we all hadn't eaten arepas with deviled ham for a long time so we were looking forward to it. To sing the birthday, we had two cakes. One of them was all strawberry and its flavor was from Baileys, one of José's favorites, and the other was tres leches with oreo that was also incredible from a store called Fiona located in the Santa Fé shopping center. They both made us the such a sweet night and they are José's favorites.
Apenas comimos las arepas y bolitas de carne, reposamos un poco escuchando gaitas y tomando cervezas, fueron solo 10 minutos y ya queriamos cantar cumpleaños y probar las deliciosas tortas que nos esperaban. Para servir, decidimos que queriamos probar ambas tortas, así que todos comimos unos buenos pedazos de ellas. Definitivamente fué una buena elección ya que a José le encanta mucho el dulce, así que queriamos que tuviera buenas tortas en su día.
As soon as we ate the arepas and meat balls, we rested a bit listening to bagpipes and drinking beers, it was only 10 minutes and we already wanted to sing birthdays and try the delicious cakes that were waiting for us. To serve, we decided we wanted to try both cakes, so we all ate a few big chunks of them. It was definitely a good choice since José loves sweets a lot, so we wanted him to have good cakes on his day.
Ya estabamos llenos y cansados, pero para finalizar nuestra noche decidimos caminar un rato hasta la iglesia de Sabaneta y observar las luces que le pusieron. Un buen cumpleaños venezolano en Medellín, qué bueno es sentirse como en casa. Esto fué todo por hoy, espero que les haya gustado. We were already full and tired, but to end our night we decided to walk for a while to the church of Sabaneta and observe the lights that were put on it. A good Venezuelan birthday in Medellin, how good it is to feel at home. This was all for today, I hope you liked it.
