About 700 thousand people around the world have lost their lives due to the disease known as the "Coronavirus", which implies that 700 thousand homes have been mourning, crying, suffering and pain.

How many people right now are mourning their deceased relatives?

Certainly this produces sadness, a lot of pain, and a lot of shedding of tears.

There are many situations in life that make us cry, from losing a family member to the slightest things that can happen to us. In these tough situations in life we need a comforting word from someone very special to say to us: Don't cry!

The Bible refers to an account of a woman who first became a widow and then her only son died. Imagine for a moment, if a woman is left a widow, surely she has to look for a job to support her and that of her child, has to make an effort to perform almost the same functions as her husband, this is painful, and also, lose her husband involved a severe emotional blow for her. In a short time she loses her only son, let's think about how heartbroken this woman was, a great pain in her heart, a great sadness and surely she had lost the desire to live, because a great depression would take hold of her.

Exactly on the day that her only son was to be buried, she heard a very sweet voice that said to her: Don't cry!

It was a consoling voice that came exclusively from our Lord Jesus Christ, who says the word, felt sorry for the widow, and approached her to comfort her and make her see that she was not alone in her pain. The Lord Jesus touched the coffin and those who were carrying it stopped and the great miracle for the woman came, because Jesus had raised that widow's son from the dead.

Jesus changed the sadness of that woman into great joy, Jesus changed the lament of the widow into a cry of joy.

We find this story in the Gospel of Luke:

11 Then it happened that he was going to the city called Nain, and many of his disciples, and a large crowd, were with him. 12 When he came near the city gate, behold, they were taking to bury a dead man, the only son of his mother, who was a widow; and there were many people from the city with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, "Don't cry." 14 And approaching, he touched the coffin; and those who were carrying it stopped. And he said: Young man, I say to you, get up. 15 Then he who had died sat up and began to speak. And he gave it to his mother. 16 And all were afraid, and glorified God, saying, A great prophet has risen up among us; and: God has visited his people. 17 And the news of him spread throughout all Judea, and throughout the surrounding region. Luke 7: 11-17 King James Version (KJV)

Christians know that we are not alone, that we have a comforter and a great friend within us who helps us carry our burdens, and it is the Holy Spirit, who also tells us: Don't cry!
