THE SPIRIT OF AN OVER COMER.

There are realms in life you can’t get into with the ordinary kind of spirit. The ordinary kind of spirit is the spirit that says it just as it is; without any inclination to God’s opinion. It is a spirit ruled by the prevailing circumstances. You don’t have to give in to any particular situation just as it is.

You need another kind of spirit to bring the situation into subjection to what God says in His Word it should be. Moses sent twelve men to go and spy out the Promised Land; ten of them returned and reported their findings on the face value, just as it was, but two of them chose to see it in the light of God’s Word and revelation. They chose to; because, seeking to operate beyond the level your situation would ordinarily second you to, is a choice. If you will learn in the midst of contrary situations, to step up your expectations in the light of God’s Word; you will gladly overcome.

The spirit of an over comer is the spirit wholly given to divine perspectives. It is the spirit that seeks to see it from God’s point of view. It is a spirit wholly committed to having it exactly as God has said. Joshua and Caleb affirmed before the whole congregation –

“if the LORD delight in us, then He will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which floweth with milk and honey” Numbers 14:8.

They saw the same thing like the other ten men did; but, their point was that they should superimpose what God had spoken over the situation on ground. This was what God counted for Caleb as “another spirit” and God said – “He has followed me fully”. In the operations of an overcoming spirit; you are not moved by what you see, hear or feel; you are only moved by the dimension God’s word brings into it.

In the fiery challenges of life; you must not be seen to be on the same plain with your challenger or any challenging situation. Your feet needs to be planted on a higher ground. There has to be something about your approach that the enemy cannot comprehend.

Jehoshaphat with his confrontation with an alliance of three nations that rose in battle against Judah; having received a word from God concerning the situation positioned singers to go before the army of Judah, singing and praising the Lord. It was something the enemies couldn’t understand and they turned against themselves.

It’s all in the operations of overcoming this kind of spirit.
