It is amazing to see how God leaves for us so much allowance with regards to the blessings He bestows upon us. You are not just at the receiving end with the blessings of God, you have so much to determine. Our text passage makes this aspect of God’s dealing with us very glaring.
After David slept with Uriah’s wife; in order to conceal his evil deed, he masterminded the killing of Uriah and took over his wife. God was highly displeased and He sent Prophet Nathan to David. In the message God sent to David through Nathan; He sought to take David through the memory lane of how He had blessed David and bestowed so much power and influence on him. In it all, God told him that if he had considered all He had blessed him with as too little, he would have made it clear, because He would have given much more.
You have a say in the blessing. If you feel it is not enough and you need more; tell God about it. He is your Father and He is able to do far more exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ever ask or think. God does not put a ceiling in the blessings He bestows on us. He always leaves room for more, for anyone who would seek to have more for Him and more from Him.
You have a right to determine whether or not you are satisfied. With long life; God promises to satisfy His children. Your satisfaction level is left for you to determine. Anything that has to do with you being satisfied, brings you into the picture, because you determine whether or not you are satisfied.
2 Samuel 12:8 indicates that God longs to hear from us, whether or not we are satisfied with the blessings He bestows on us. If you feel you need more, tell Him; He is able to give you more than you already have. Godliness with contentment is an excellent virtue to possess; but, God has made allowance for us to have more of whatever blessing He bestows on us and it’s yours for the asking.
