I once attended a ceremony and I witnessed how pride brought shame and embarrassment to a person. A particular man walked into the auditorium, there were some special seats in there of which were reserved for dignitaries. Instead of finding a space where the masses were, he decided to head to the special seats.
Time came for the main event to begin and those who had those seats came in. It will really shameful how this man was being asked to evacuate thr seat. Pride has never brought anyone honour rather shame and reproach. Thus, we should endeavour to always stay humble if we want to be raised and elevated in life.
Jesus Christ knew this, he lived it and then taught us humility. It pays to be humble in life. Jesus Christ would not have been highly exalted and given a name which is above every other name if he saw Himself as equal with the Father. Despite the power He had, He humbled Himself even to the washing of His disciples feet and dying on the cross.
KJV: But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6
God will never lift a man that is always too full of himself. God's divine upliftment is always channelled towards those who submit totally to God's authority and precepts.
Don't let the money you have make your proud else you'll lose it. All you have was given to you by God so, why the boost? If God didn't give it to you, you will not have it. Pride shuts the door of your growth, blessings and increase but humility is a ladder for greatness in life.
When you are humble, you will always submit yourself to learning and thereby growing in knowledge and capacity. Unlike a proud fellow, he feels he knows it all. Humility is one of the attributes that endears a God to a man. Stay humble and God will certain uplift you in due season.

Your topic alone got my attention, indeed humility is the prerequisite to attaining any height, no matter how intelligent you feel you are without humility you maybe surprise were you would probably fund yourself.
