All is well here. United won yesterday and my son's football team went through to the next stage of the cup. Happy days.
This past week's 365 shots have been varied but mostly light painting and here is a selection of them for you. I hope you like them :)

Those unexpected moments of excitement with the camera are harder to come by these days. Quite often I'm pretty confident what the final outcome of a shot is before I close the shutter.
Tonight I spent about an hour rotating blades in the dark and just as I was finishing my last shot I added a final flourish with my mini DLW.
I got an old school rush when this one popped up.
The rainbow fade always does it for me and the way it has spiralled into the blade rotation element made me happy.
LP Brushes pill blade rotation, focus change followed by some DLW rotation.
I watched a great tutorial on YouTube earlier from a guy called Lee Hall. As soon as I saw it I knew it would form the basis of tonight's shot.
Now to work on a way of introducing this into my LP shots.

Bit of abstract LP on this particular evening.
One of those nights where you fire off hundreds of shots and choose the first one you did.
This is a bag full of ball-bearings lined up symmetrically and lit from above by a run of Ws2812B LED lights on rainbow fade mode.
I needed a certain amount of planning for this one which isn't like me at all. Time was limited as I had work all day, home for tea, Lightpainting workshop zoom for an hour then United on the TV for an 8 o'clock KO.
I've never done one of these before and thought it would be easy to bag on the way into work.
I didn't take long enough to compose the shot this morning and the results weren't up to scratch. I took my time on my lunch break to set the tripod up properly and made sure the compo was spot on ready for my journey home.
These are pot luck to expose for as light levels and trails change constantly and the settings you set off with are the ones you keep as you can't be faffing about with a camera mid journey.
Pretty chuffed with how it turned out but would be better on a dry journey with clean windows.
This one came second on my choice for the day and the final image below got the top spot. I love the creepy vibe from this one more though. Double hand shot, converted to a bitmap and displayed on my digital light wand. Camera rotation 90 degrees for every pair. I like how the thumb swirls into the middle making each hand look like it has 4 fingers.

This my favourite from the night due to the pastel shades.
I enjoy this type of night with the camera. You maybe don't end up with a standalone image but it often yields effects which can be used in the field as part of a more intricate shot. Plus it's very relaxing watching those neopixel leds flashing on and off.
