The lightpainting community is small and spread all over the world. A close association,
which is perceived far too little in the world of photography. We want to change this. In
order to bring you some artists closer, we asked some artists, which are active on HIVE,
to introduce themselves and to answer a few questions about light painting and their
relation to it. Today we would like to introduce you ...

01. Please introduce yourself shortly. Name, Age and where you from etc.

My Name is Sam i’am 55 years old and was born in Pontefract (famous for the Pontefract Cake) England.

02. How and why did you start Light Painting?

Back in 2016 i meet up with @fastchriuk from peakd with @leetod at fountains abby for a night of light painting and was hooked.

03. What means Light Painting for you? What is your motivation? What drives you?

To keep learning something new light painting to me means an never ending opportunity to create something new each time we go out.

04. What gear do you always carry with you?

Home-made pixel-stick torches gels flash guns like my Godox AD200.

05. What is your favorite environment to shoot in?

Graveyards / tunnels and open spaces still learning and looking at the images on Lightpainters united for ideas going forward.

06. What is your Workflow?

I never really have a workflow just an idea of what i want to produce go to the location and start to play with the idea see what i can come up with.

07. Who or what inspires you?

My inspiration comes from myself trying to get better at the technique.

08. Do you have 3 Lightpainters you would like to have a colaboration with?

09. What was your most memorable Lightpainting experience, event, or moment?

The first time I got a multi light painting image in one shot & seeing @fastchrisuk show me what to do.

10. What are your best or most favourite 3 pictures?
