Tripping the light Fantastic

Last week I made a post about how I'd made an infinity mirror kaleidoscope with hexagonal sheets of adhesive mirror. Well this week I've made something simliar but with moving light in it. Its made of strips of adhesive mirror which I taped into a toblerone shape with coloured gels stuck on the outside. One side is then cut into 3 pieces to create a line which is then mirrored to infinity.

I've then put it in front of an actual kaleidoscope I bought but the wrong way round so it just sees the marble at the end of it. This is what my new kaleidoscope looks like from the outside pushed up to the actual kaleidoscope...

..and this is what the marble at the end of a kaleidoscope with a gelled light shone through the eye piece looks like..

Add the two together and you get the following..

Here are a few other examples and test pieces as I've been experimenting with gels..

Above I mentioned moving light. If you run a torch along the length of the kaleidoscope you get the following videos which I created..

Apologies for the background noise in the clips, it was straight from my camera phone.

Just to clarify on the still images, these are NOT Photoshop creations, they are all straight out of camera and no edits

Equipment Huawei P20 pro phone camera, mirrored strips, coloured gels and masking tape.
