Hyundai 95% sure of World Rally Championship involvement after 2021

in Rally3 years ago

Hi, friends!

There is still no official confirmation from the Korean manufacturer that they will be at top of the sport after this season when hybrid era of rallying begins but there are some strong rumours that they will stay beyond this season.

The sport is still on the thin ice with only three manufacturers and one of them - M-Sport Ford - are just a semi-private outfit without full involvement of Ford. Ok, they always give them their aero fascilities to test there because modern WRC cars are just full of aero stuff because of the downforce needed with the huge bhp power those cars produce.

If Hyundai leaves the sport, then we will have only two manufacturers - Toyota and M-Sport Ford, with possible coming of Subaru, but that is only still academic.

Sport just need more manufacturers and it is sad that sport didn't adopt R5 cars (or Rally2 as called now) as the top category.

I think that we will have all the answers until the end of March because it is not that easy to develop the new car in the short time.
