Los papas de José Ignacio
Nosotros somos una pareja joven, venimos de Venezuela y actualmente tenemos 4 años en Lima Perú. Empezar desde cero nos ha hecho ser más VALIENTES, pues no es nada fácil dejar todo atrás, como tu familia, amigos y cualquier otra cosa que tenga valor sentimental; simplemente empacamos lo justo y necesario y nos arriesgamos a rehacer nuestras vidas, en una cuidad “ajena” de la que poco sabíamos.
Hace algunos meses nació nuestro bebé, y si le somos sinceros, ahí es cuando le dimos inicio a una de las aventuras más interesantes que hemos tenido.

We are a young couple, we come from Venezuela and we have been living in Lima Peru for 4 years. Starting from scratch has made us braver, because it is not easy to leave everything behind, like your family, friends and anything else that has sentimental value; we simply packed just enough and we took the risk to rebuild our lives in a "foreign" city that we knew little about.
A few months ago our baby was born, and if we're honest, that's when we started one of the most interesting adventures we've ever had.
Decidimos llamar nuestro espacio como Los papas de JI (José Ignacio, así lo abreviamos), la razón es porque la mayoría de nuestro contenido será sobre como sobrellevamos el hecho ser padres de nuestro hijo siendo extranjeros, y teniendo el “reto” de aplicar una crianza respetuosa y con apego seguro, así que pronto les estaremos contando como nos va cada día con el “Krakem”, así le decimos por cariño (y por travieso).
Sin embargo no todo gira en torno a la maternidad, ya que evidentemente siempre buscamos actividades diferentes que sean divertidas y nos ayuden a liberar un poco la presión de nuestro día a día.
We decided to call our space as Los papas de JI (José Ignacio, that's how we abbreviate it), the reason is because most of our content will be about how we cope with being parents of our son being foreigners, and having the "challenge" of applying a respectful and secure attachment parenting, so soon we will be telling you how we are doing every day with the "Krakem", as we call him by affection (and naughty).
However, not everything revolves around motherhood, since obviously we are always looking for different activities that are fun and help us to release some of the pressure of our day to day life.

I admit as an English-speaking foreigner who has never been south of the US/Mexico border, I fail to see much cultural difference between Venezuela and Peru, but I admit to a vast gulf of ignorance here. What has the transition to a new country been like for you? Is it dealing with passports and paperwork, differences in dialect, cultural conflicts, or just being so far from home that is most challenging? Regarding your question, it is indeed like a mosaic of things that makes it a little complicated to get used to, South American countries have very marked cultural differences and that adds to the fact that you are not close to your family. In fact the issue of paperwork is one of them, in Venezuela, it is very complicated to acquire certain papers that here in a matter of a couple of days you get them.
When deciding to migrate to another country it is not easy, although it sounds like that. With time you get used to it and it doesn't hurt to miss your loved ones so much, being very familiar is a characteristic of Venezuelans, especially at Christmas time when we all spend time together.
