¡Hola! Soy Mayra, pero pueden llamarme May; en este apartado quiero presentarme y compartir un poquito sobre mí.
Mi mayor y mejor título me lo ha dado mi hermana menor; soy una hermana mayor muy orgullosa, adoro y cuido a mi “peque” con todo mi corazón. Ella es mi mayor alegría y mi mejor amiga. Mi familia es mi pilar fundamental. Valoro cada momento que comparto con ellos, ya que son mi mayor apoyo y fuente de alegría. Son mi refugio y mi mayor tesoro. Desde hace 7 años, mi mamá vive en otro país, pero a pesar de la distancia, siempre nos mantenemos en contacto y sigue siendo una parte fundamental de mi vida.
Mis sentimientos a veces me abruman, pero trato de no demostrarlos demasiado. Prefiero compartir mis alegrías y mis buenos momentos con los demás. Cuando estoy triste o pasando por un mal momento, me encierro en mí misma y busco consuelo en mi familia y en mis hobbies. Mi lugar seguro es y siempre será mi familia: mis papás, mi abuela materna y mi hermana. Ellos son mi mundo y mi todo. Los amo con todo mi ser y me encanta compartirlo todo con ellos.
Mi lenguaje de amor y conexión siempre han sido los abrazos; amo darlos y recibirlos. Los abrazos son un lenguaje universal que trasciende las palabras. Un abrazo puede ser un consuelo en momentos difíciles, una celebración en momentos de alegría o simplemente una forma de decir "te quiero" sin necesidad de hablar. Para mí, los abrazos son mi forma de expresar amor, cariño, gratitud y apoyo. Cuando abrazo a alguien, quiero transmitirle todo lo que siento por esa persona, ya sea mi familia, mis amigos o incluso alguien que acabo de conocer. Quiero que sepan que estoy ahí para ellos, que me importan y que pueden contar conmigo. No hay nada mejor como el abrazo cálido y reconfortante de mi abuela, el abrazo divertido y espontáneo de mis amigos y ese abrazo lleno de amor de mi hermana. Cada abrazo es único y especial, como la persona que lo recibe. No sé si soy la mejor expresando mis sentimientos con palabras, pero sí sé que mis abrazos son sinceros y llenos de amor. Así que si alguna vez me ves con los brazos extendidos, no dudes en acercarte.
La música y la lectura son dos de mis grandes pasiones. Desde muy pequeña me ha encantado leer, pero no fue hasta que tuve 14 años y pude tener acceso a plataformas donde los libros eran infinitos que esa pasión por la lectura se desarrolló aún más, y debo admitir que soy una romántica empedernida, por lo que el género de romance es en definitiva mi favorito. ¿Qué les puedo decir? Amo sumergirme en esas historias que veo tan lejanas e “imposibles” en la realidad, pero que me las vivo como si fueran propias, página por página. Ahora, si de música hablamos, esta me ha acompañado siempre, desde que estaba en el vientre de mi madre (historia que muchas veces me ha contado) hasta la actualidad. Amo, de verdad, amo escuchar música, y una de las cosas que más amo de la música es el poder que tiene de transportarte a un momento o recuerdo específico con tan solo escuchar una melodía; es simplemente sorprendente. Escuchar una salsa caleña siempre me hará pensar en mi padre, escuchar a RBD siempre me llevará a momentos de mi niñez/adolescencia que añoro mucho, escuchar a Justin Bieber (uno de mis grandes amores, cabe acotar) me llevará a pensar en mi época de fangirl más desaforada en mi adolescencia, y así como estos ejemplos, muchos más en los cuales es solo escuchar el principio de una canción y que los recuerdos y momentos vividos vengan a mí. La música es simplemente un activo en mi vida casi que 24/7, en diferentes estilos e idiomas. No soy la que tiene los gustos musicales más sofisticados, ni la que lee los libros más profundos, pero aprecio y admiro a los artistas que me gustan, y atesoro cada palabra escrita en mis libros favoritos.
La música es tan importante en mi vida que, a través de ella, he encontrado y hecho los lazos de amistad más maravillosos que he tenido. Gracias a dos fandoms (grupo de fans de un artista) a los cuales pertenezco, he podido lograr esto. Soy Belieber (fans de Justin Bieber) desde 2010 y ARMY (fandom de BTS) desde 2020. Estos artistas no solo me inspiran con su trabajo y su dedicación, sino que con su música, letras y mensajes han logrado cosas maravillosas en mi vida; el mejor ejemplo es el conectar con personas a las cuales aprecio, admiro y agradezco a la vida y el destino el poder haber coincidido con ellas. Siempre he sido una persona de pocos amigos, pero valoro enormemente a aquellos que tengo, aunque sean virtuales. La distancia no es un impedimento para construir relaciones significativas. Mis amigos son mi familia elegida.
Entre mis pasatiempos y hobbies están también las series y películas. Amo mucho el poder ir al cine (aunque últimamente no lo haga muy seguido), y ahora con el montón de plataformas de streaming que nos ofrecen un sinfín de opciones, soy de las que disfruta ver desde la comodidad de su habitación sus favoritos, más aún que desde hace un par de años, no solo la música asiática llegó a mi vida, sino su contenido audiovisual, así que también soy fanática de los dramas y películas que este hermoso continente nos comparte. Tengo un “corazón de condominio”; para lo que respecta a los artistas que me gustan, me encanta descubrir nuevos talentos y “amores” que conquistan mi corazón a través de su arte.
De mis cosas favoritas son los atardeceres y apreciar la luna en las noches; me transmite mucha paz. Amo la comida casera de mi abuela, reír a carcajadas por cualquier tontería con mi hermana, escuchar las olas del mar, las palabras de aliento de mi madre y las risas y momentos compartidos con mis amigos. Me gusta mucho aprender y conocer cosas nuevas, es por eso que me estoy abriendo a la oportunidad de crear un espacio en esta comunidad, la cual agradezco a @madefrance por presentarme, y a @soy-laloreto por enseñarnos a través de sus clases un poco más de este mundo.

Hi, I'm Mayra, but you can call me May, in this section I want to introduce myself and share a little bit about me.
My biggest and best title has been given to me by my little sister, I am a very proud big sister, I adore and take care of my “peque” with all my heart. She is my greatest joy and my best friend. My family is my fundamental pillar. I value every moment I share with them, as they are my greatest support and source of joy. They are my refuge and my greatest treasure. For the last 7 years, my mom has been living in another country, but despite the distance, we always keep in touch and she continues to be a fundamental part of my life.
My feelings sometimes overwhelm me, but I try not to show them too much. I prefer to share my joys and good times with others. When I am sad or going through a bad time, I withdraw into myself and seek solace in my family and my hobbies. My safe place is and always will be my family: my parents, my maternal grandmother and my sister. They are my world and my everything. I love them with all my being and I love sharing everything with them.
My language of love and connection has always been hugs, I love giving and receiving them. Hugs are a universal language that transcends words. A hug can be a comfort in difficult times, a celebration in times of joy, or simply a way to say “I love you” without the need to speak. For me, hugs are my way of expressing love, affection, gratitude and support. When I hug someone, I want to convey everything I feel for that person, whether it's my family, my friends or even someone I just met. I want them to know that I am there for them, that I care about them and that they can count on me. There is nothing better than the warm and comforting hug from my grandmother, the fun and spontaneous hug from my friends, and that hug full of love from my sister. Each hug is unique and special, just like the person receiving it. I don't know if I'm the best at expressing my feelings in words, but I do know that my hugs are sincere and full of love. So if you ever see me with my arms outstretched, don't hesitate to reach out.
Music and reading are two of my great passions. Since I was very little I have loved to read, but it was not until I was 14 years old and I had access to platforms where books were infinite and from there that passion for reading developed even more, and I must admit that I am a hopeless romantic so the romance genre is definitely my favorite, what can I say, I love to immerse myself in those stories that I see so distant and “impossible” in reality, but that I live them as if they were my own page by page. Now if we talk about music, it has always accompanied me, since I was in my mother's womb (a story that she has told me many times) until today. I love, really, I love listening to music, and one of the things I love most about music is the power it has to transport you to a specific moment or memory just by listening to a melody, it is simply amazing. Listening to a caleña salsa will always make me think of my father, listening to RBD will always take me to moments of my childhood/adolescence that I miss a lot, listening to Justin Bieber (one of my great loves, it should be noted) will take me to think of my time as a fangirl in my adolescence, and like these examples many more in which it is only listening to the beginning of a song and the memories and moments lived come to me. Music is simply an asset in my life almost 24/7, in different styles and languages, I am not the one with the most sophisticated musical tastes, nor the one who reads the most profound books, but I appreciate and admire the artists I like, and I treasure every word written in my favorite books.
Music is so important in my life, that through it I have found and made the most wonderful bonds of friendship I have ever had, thanks to two fandoms (group of fans of an artist) to which I belong I have been able to achieve this, I am Belieber (Justin Bieber fans) since 2010, and ARMY (BTS fandom) since 2020. These artists not only inspire me with their work and dedication, but with their music, lyrics and messages they have achieved wonderful things in my life, the best example is connecting with people whom I appreciate, admire and thank life and destiny to have been able to coincide with them. I have always been a person of few friends, but I greatly value those I have, even if they are virtual. Distance is not an impediment to building meaningful relationships. My friends are my chosen family.
Among my hobbies are also series and movies, I love going to the movies (although lately I do not do it very often), and now with the many streaming platforms that offer us endless options, I am one of those who enjoy watching from the comfort of your room your favorites, even more that since a couple of years ago, not only Asian music came into my life, but its audiovisual content, so I am also a fan of dramas and movies that this beautiful continent shares with us. I have a “condo heart”, for what artists I like, I love to discover new talents and “loves” that conquer my heart through their art.
My favorite things are the sunsets, and appreciating the moon at night, it transmits me a lot of peace. I love my grandmother's homemade food, laughing out loud at silly things with my sister, listening to the ocean waves, my mother's words of encouragement, and the laughter and moments shared with my friends. I love to learn and know new things, that's why I'm opening myself to the opportunity to create a space in this community which I thank @madefrance for introducing me, and @soy-laloreto for teaching us through her classes a little more of this world.
I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you.

Y si, la separación ha sido un poco larga y muy cierto lo que dice, que nada reemplaza el estar cerca, pero es lo que nos ha tocado vivir, y hacemos todo lo posible para que la distancia no sea un impedimento en muchas cosas.

Hello, Mayra! I also like to share my thoughts and feelings with people close to me. I especially enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and we often get together to watch a movie or TV series, listen to music, or just talk.
I was very impressed with how much attention you pay to your loved ones. I am sure that they love you back and are always ready to support you in difficult moments. I was also touched by the way you describe your feelings and emotions. It can be seen that you are a very open and sincere person who is not afraid to be yourself.
I also like that you are interested in different areas of life. Music, books, movies, friends and family are all important parts of your life. I think this makes you an interesting and versatile person.
