It’s interesting how everyone says that it’s easiest to write about yourself. I find it hard to come up with almost anything to write about anything at all. But I’m going to give it my best shot.
Assalamualaikum and hello everyone, I’m @surrealfia and this is my introduction. I hope you enjoy what I’m writing and sharing although I’m not a very good writer. I thoroughly enjoy others’ materials, mostly stories and short novels, and some other novels too.
About me? I’m just a simple human being with ordinary ambitions who’s trying to live her life to the fullest. Though like everyone else, I have my qualities and flaws, I seem to adore my imperfections more than my fine points. They seem to make me more and more human and help me cherish every bit of myself.
I’m not big on words. I’m an introvert with a hint of extroversion. I enjoy both company and silence. In a crowd, I’m somewhat silent but around my favorite people, I’m the talkative one. Although I’m an introvert and don’t get close enough with everyone, I’m a very jolly person. People around me rarely see me without my smile plastered on my face. But no, it’s not a fake smile; I’m a happy person. I remember something Audrey Hepburn said,
I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.
I think this is also true for me. I smile a lot and laugh my heart out and I like that quite a lot. Life is too precise to skip out on moments that make us laugh. So yes, I will smile and I will always smile even at the barely funny things. Doesn’t it make you smile when you see someone else smile? It makes me smile.
Literature and poetry have their mantles and worshippers but for me, the food for my soul would be music. I love to listen to songs for hours and hours. Sometimes I get lost in the lyrics and sometimes I get drowned in the tune. I don’t have an artistic taste in music. If you’re going to name some musical genius and ask me if I have heard a certain album, chances are that I haven’t. I know what you’re thinking and I’m laughing too.
Another of my favorite activity would be watching movies. I have watched an endless amount of movies. Some of them are not very distinctive, some just to amuse me. But I have watched a lot of them. Even though I have watched almost every genre and many blockbusters, but my favorite film is Gone with the wind (1939) and Sabrina (1954) (no it’s not Breakfast at Tiffany’s, it is a good movie, however).
I’m a dreamer and a daydreamer. I get lost in my world and sometimes space out too. My surroundings catch my attention too often and even though I have been through the same road over and over and over again, I will still stare at the surroundings, taking in all the beauty. It’s like I can’t get enough of what’s around me.
Although I remember saying that I’m not a person with a lot of words but I have managed to say quite a lot. And though poetry and literature are too hard for me, especially poetry, I would like to share certain poetry with you written by Erin Hanson.
You are not your age,
Nor the size of clothes you wear,
You are not a weight,
Or the color of your hair.
You are not your name,
Or the dimples in your cheeks,
You are all the books you read,
And all the words you speak,
You are your croaky morning voice,
And the smiles you try to hide,

@globetrottergcc is an awesome person & very glad he brought you here. We have a lot in common from what I read. I love movies & music, in all different genres (depending upon my mood). Also, laughter and happiness is so important. I agree with your views on that :)
