Cox's Bazar is a city and tourism capital located in the south-east of Bangladesh. The city is located 152 km south of Chittagong city. Its distance from Dhaka is 414 km. Cox's Bazar is famous for its natural beauty. The name Cox's Bazar comes from Captain Hiram Cox, an officer of the British East India Company. Before naming Cox's Bazar, it was called Palangki. At one time, Cox's Bazar was also known as Panoya which literally means yellow flower. Cox's Bazar has the longest beach in the world. It also has the largest marine fishing port and submarine cable landing station in Bangladesh.

Cox's Bazar is the longest natural beauty beach in the world. It is 120 kilometers long. (1) The sophisticated hotels, motels and cottages adjacent to the beach are bustling with tourists during the tourist season. Cox's Bazar beach has been topped In 2000 for the second time in the selection of the New Seven Wonders of the World by the Bernd Weber, (2) a privately owned organization in Switzerland. Cox's Bazar beach is a magical and beautiful beach. Every day the form of reflection changes. Winter - Rain - Spring - Summer There is no such season. It is one thing in the morning and another thing in the afternoon. There is a big difference between the weather at dusk and the weather at night.



When it comes to the beaches of Bangladesh, the first thing that comes to mind is the picture of Laboni Point in Cox's Bazar. There are many small and big shops in the area adjacent to the beach which is decorated with posaras of various things which are an additional attraction for tourists. Laboni Point is considered to be the main beach of Cox's Bazar due to its proximity to Cox's Bazar city.

Apart from the long beach, Cox's Bazar has many more places to visit. Himchhari is located 12 km south of Cox's Bazar. Mountains and waterfalls are the main attractions here. During the rainy season, the Himachari springs seem to be much more alive and vibrant. On the way from Cox's Bazar to Himchhari, the green hills on the left and the blue water of the sea on the right create a captivating view. Recently, several tourist centers and picnic spots have sprung up in Himachari.

Inani Beach is just 15 kilometers away from Himchhari. One of the tourist attractions of Cox's Bazar is the sea on the west and the mountains on the east. Maheshkhali is an island in the middle of the ocean, just 12 km west of Cox's Bazar city. Maheshkhali has the famous Adinath temple, a place of pilgrimage for Hindus. It is a sacred place for Hindus. Ramu Thana in Cox's Bazar is renowned for its Buddhist culture. There is a Buddhist monastery with 13 Buddhist statues of Buddhists called Singh and Sada Singh next to it.

There are also many more places of interest in Cox's Bazar. All in all, Cox's Bazar is a beautiful treasure.
