North Carolina set to ban critical race theory in schools

This entire "controversy" is exhausting anyway but the fact that we would take something that was completely blown out of proportion for political purposes and seek to make it part of a school curriculum for all children is just crazy. Thankfully, we have separation of powers as far as the individual states in the United States and a lot of states are standing up to this ridiculous proposition in education.

If you don't know what critical race theory is, get in line. I only barely understand what it is but basically it was an attempt by some blowhard somewhere to change how history classes are taught in US schools. Instead of focusing on things that actually happened including dates and events, this would change all of that to focus on how the United States was born of racism and how racism has shaped and continues to shape the political and socio-economical makeup of this country.

It was a stupid idea and after having everything turned magically into "racism" anytime anyone talks about literally anything, especially if it is political, it comes as no surprise that nearly half of the states in the Union have already put forth legislation that will ban this from ever being introduced into school curriculums in their state.

Needless to say, most of the states in question are conservative states and I am quite sure that the liberal media will use this as ammunition to further label conservative areas as being racist. The only states on the list that could be considered not staunchly conservative would be New Hampshire and maybe Michigan. The rest are all red states.

The New York Times is already spinning this widespread non-acceptance of a stupid proposal as being a "Republican trick to win over voters." Is it though? Or was it just a really stupid idea to begin with and the states were making certain it would not end up applying to them by banning it before it is even introduced?

Everything being about race has gotten old in USA society and this is all because of the antics of BLM and the corporations and professional sports that helped fuel this nonsensical movement in society. It all began when police accidentally "killed" a guy who was a career criminal, had just committed a crime, and had an overdose level of drugs in his system at the time. The media and the politicians who sought to benefit from this crazy overreaction are the reason why this spiraled out of control and resulted in mass looting, rioting, and property damage in several places around the country.

Now, some idiots who see the world through racist eyes seek to re-write history and force kids to "learn" it as if it were fact.

North Carolina strongly opposes this. It already went through the House and the state Senate will almost certainly pass the law banning CRT from ever seeing the inside of school classroom. I'm proud of your North Carolina and I truly believe that we are one of the sane states in this country.

I saw this in a post somewhere else and I'm sorry but I don't remember who said it but it is a perfect example of how there are some groups that will take an idea and then go so far with it that it no longer means anything to anyone anyore

If you call EVERYTHING racist, eventually no one will believe ANYTHING is racist, and this sets up a perfect opportunity for ACTUAL RACISM to thrive.

Sort:

I still believe the entire concept of racism is seriously flawed. We are all members of the human race. We just have different skin pigmentation. There are major cultural differences between certain ethnic groups, including assorted "white" groups, but that's not the same as racism.

Well said buddy, let's kick this Communist Marxist pile of manure into the sea where it belongs. I just posted an article on the entire plot now, if you want to check out the Kelergi plan to eradicate the white race from the planet.

I see that the politicians are turning this into something bigger than it needs to be. No surprise there!
