Trump should face manslaughter charges for Covid says leftist rag, Salon.

This gem of a op ed piece comes from none other than Salon, who is an outlets that really struggles with relevancy seeing as how they aren't generally regarded as being a player in the news game. The only reason that anyone is paying any attention to them is because of the hordes of people that really really really hate Trump and will latch on to any piece that is disparaging about him, regardless of how absurd it is.

If you go to Salon's website, and not many people do, you could close your eyes and click on a random article and you are going to see the opposite of journalism and at first glance it almost looks like a satire site that is going for a dark humor shtick. Unfortunately that is not what is going on over there and they are very serious when they feature articles such as Unlearning Toxic Masculinity and Is the pandemic making us drink more or less? I can't really imagine that very many people take Salon seriously since every single one of their articles is completely subjective and almost always devoid of any sort of facts.

Brad Reed, who unfortunately doesn't have an image on his Salon profile but I would imagine he looks something like the above picture is the author of a recent article entitled Trump should face manslaughter charges for his "reckless" handling of COVID-19. In it he comes the the obvious conclusion that everything Trump does is bad but it is not just enough that people hate him for it but he should be tried for crimes against the people.

Can you imagine if this sort of action was directed towards every leader that ever made a decision in their office that ended up resulting in damage or death of a person? Every single President and most of the other legislators would be in jail immediately after leaving office and it is just a completely ridiculous standpoint to have on anything.

In the very short article, Brad Reed spares us his personal talking points about why this would be a good idea or how something like that could even happen (it can't) but instead he is a total coward when he says that these words come from and former Manhattan District Attorney's Office employee.

First off, let's go ahead and look at the prevailing opinion of most people in Manhattan and it would be very easy to understand why someone who lives there would also have an "Orange Man Bad" opinion. All that we know about this person is that he was a former homicide prosecutor, which has nothing at all to do with the sort of law that he is talking about.

Not that it would matter because there is zero chance that anything like this could ever happen because that sort of precedent would open avenues for literally any legislator to be charged with all sorts of crimes that they are actually not directly guilty of. As much of a s**t show as the government in the United States has become no choices would ever be made about anything because it isn't too difficult to find someone who suffers from literally any change of law that is made. Not just that but the opposing political side could just make things up, which is what they are best at these days.

I don't really have an opinion about the the White House's handling of Covid because the media has made it so difficult to have any idea about what is going on at all that virtually any standpoint can be debunked by another viewpoint even though both viewpoints are pulling from the same, very flawed data that I don't think was ever true to begin with.

Salon is a joke and no one reads it so I guess that is one good thing that comes out of this. Brad Reed's entire library of articles cover one thing and one thing only: Conservatives = BAD! ... Liberals = GOOD! and when you have that sort of resume you can safely say that said individual is actually not an journalist, they are an activist and sadly, that is what 99% of all news media is today.

Brad, I already though this about Salon but I didn't even know you existed until this ridiculous article somehow made it into a news feed of mine. Welcome to the ever-growing stack of...

Sort:

ah, good ol' Salon. I expect nothing less from them though, don't you?

well, of course. It's still a bit sad to see that there are some people out there that probably take it seriously and even worse, get their opinions for them at places like this.

that sort of precedent would open avenues for literally any legislator to be charged with all sorts of crimes that they are actually not directly guilty of

Indeed... then we would have legislator insurance the same way doctors have to purchase absurdly overpriced medical malpractice insurance.
