It's said that "health is wealth." How much true this statement will count if the needed attention to our health is paid. Also, "prevention is better than cure." How much this statement will resonate with us if only the needed attention and efforts to one's health are put into consideration. The statements are ones that are largely of health benefits to an individual. How much they're being said, yet how much are they considered or put in view/action? One ultimate way that shows one's acceptance, agreement and consideration to these statements, and the efforts to achieve good health is through a medical check-up—regularly.

Sadly, people especially in my part of the world are mainly concerned with the hustle and bustle that health only becomes a concern when they're totally down. The point where they have less or no energy to engage those things then they remember the hospital, doctor, nurse and everything medical. That's if they don't opt in for a pharmacy or roadside clinic for some quick medication, without going for a proper check-up. One could find enough good reasons to be like this with their health, it's never good enough though. For "prevention is better than cure."
I wouldn't consider myself doing well in this respect too. If truly, "health is wealth" then it should be my biggest hustle. Unfortunately, I find myself leaning less towards the efforts. I can remember a period while in school, I fell sick. It became frequent that it was disturbing and I had to solicit for some medical tests to be carried out. What I had thought was the issue was entirely different from what was found out by that test. I saw through this the importance of proper medical actions such as a check-up.
No reason could be good enough to not consider medical check-ups. While one could arbitrarily complain about a lack of funds to engage in this medical process, the funds won't be lacking somehow to undergo treatment when a health issue arises. It's about what is truly wealth to us I believe—health or wealth? Now, it could hold true for some, yet not really true for many. It's a matter of importance attached and "the cure rather than prevention mindset." The mindset that, one is okay as long as they're moving and doing their business, so medical attention is only needful when they can't do all that again.

Then you have the belief that whenever one goes for a medical check-up, a new issue or ailment is found. I think the question is, how many times do such people go for a medical check-up? You go for check-up regularly, it will be hard to always find something new. But when it's once in a long while thing or not at all, one could expect that new things would be found. Finding these things should also be an opportunity to address the issue, not allowing it draw one back from taking the necessary and needful health actions.
Regular medical check-ups should be an everybody thing. We're only guaranteed to do that work well, play that sport well, perform well in that concert, get those good grades, attend those meetings or gatherings, do that business well—ultimately function well, if only our health is well as well. So, I guess "health is wealth", indeed and "prevention is better than cure", certainly.
