🇺🇸 Hello everyone. With these photographs I participate in the @CelfMagazine community contest, this time with the theme "Green".

It is common to think only of beaches and blue sea when talking about Margarita Island in Venezuela, but in Margarita we find much more than beaches. It is a wonderful island where you can enjoy high hills, with a cold climate, as well as a wide variety of fauna and vegetation. For example, Cerro Copey is 900 meters high. Above sea level, there is also the Guayamurí hill, among several others.

There are mangroves with rich vegetation, composed of lagoons, black and red mangroves. The fauna of these areas is made up of different species such as lebranche, horse mackerel, mullet and shrimp. Speaking of birds, you can see pelicans, cotuas and herons.

In general, Margarita Island is very green, even in the most urbanized areas the vegetation continues around it. In several of the hills and high parts of the Island the vegetation is xerophilous. An example of this is the place where I took the photographs, in the La Caranta sector of the city of Pampatar. It is an area known for its incredible view of the bay due to its elevated location above the sea. In them we can see briefly what Margarita is: a lot of green with the blue sea.
