The Right Way To Give Molly Some Lovins

A Rather Quick Post Tonight..

It’s getting late and I’m heading off to bed, but I thought I would take a moment and share a Molly photos. Molly is an independent type who rarely seeks affection in the form of snuggles or laps. Although she does like getting petted but only a certain way and at certain times. I thought I would share with you the dynamics of her head petting. I do these handful of rubbing techniques and she tolerates it for several minutes. When she’s done she’s done, and she heads off back to her throne of pillows to retreat for the evening. Sometimes I wish she was a more snuggly dog, but sometimes it’s nice that she’s so independent. So without further delay, here we go…

Now that Molly has assumed a position, preferably laying down on a soft blanket somewhere near me, she is ready for her petting.

First we start with one of her favorites, and that being underneath the chin. I called is her favorite because often I can put her to sleep just gently stroking under the chin. She also tends to like this when she’s standing up and she almost falls on the floor when you’re doing it.

Another good go to move is behind the ears. I don’t know too many dogs that don’t like being stroked behind their ears. Only one dog I can think of and that one is our friends dog who doesn’t like to be touched. I called the dog Khujo. I’m pretty sure I would lose my hand if I tried to pet the dog. I just leave it alone. I Molly on the other hand loves behind ears!

Next up is a combo of behind the ear and rubbing the neck. Although in this picture it looks like I’m strangling poor Molly, I Assure you I am not. She likes this but very quickly begins to tell you she doesn’t so then I have to go to another position or go back to just behind the ears or under the neck. As you can see this gets pretty complicated.

Another one of my techniques is gently rubbing the face, moving my hand along her cheek, then pulling the ear back. Not too hard! Believe me she’ll let you know if you pull on her ear too hard. She’s a little sensitive in may yelp and run away. But if you’re just very gentle then this may also put her right to sleep.

The final petting move I have to share with you is going to hit you right between the eyes! Wait! What I meant to say was it’s gonna hit her right between the eyes. I put my thumb between her eyes and gently rub the spot just above her nose. She’ll sit there for quite a while while you do this. I’m not sure if she’s scared to move or she’s enjoying it. Either way she doesn’t run away after I do it so she must enjoy it somewhat.

That’s all for tonight! Molly got her Lovins and Rubbins and is ready for bed. To tell you the truth I’m ready for bed! So audios and I will see you all tomorrow.

Also pepper Molly say good night!

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
