an Italian working farm / local produce business, where they are
self providing for food and use that in their kitchen and restaurant.
( in our case olive oil and red & white wines are made)
with sometimes rooms and / or apartments
to stay at , on your holiday
possibly with breakfast and / or dinner. Different options are available in some you even can have cooking lessons during your stay. Not here though, we just want to see the wine bottelery / factory later this week, Oh and often the place also has a shop or you can buy cases wine or bottles of olive oil from stock.

We rented an appartement with them three months ago. Covid counts were high at the time but with the possibility to cancel without any charges was the reason for the early booking. And the thought of having something to look foreward to was also a reason to be an early holiday booker.

Our agriturismo/restaurant this week.
We choose an apartment because with kids we think that’s easier and more comfortable than a hotelroom. In the apartment we have a kitchen so today we decided to go into Montepulciano to get some groceries.

I love seeing new products. I took the pictures in the store while looking for products. The fact that most supermarkets have produce of the region and things we can’t buy in Holland makes it even more fun to go. We bought bread with truffle oil and butter for tonight and some other things.
We bought tomatoes and mozzarella, to go with the bread. I already had balsamic oil to put untop. To make a caprese salad.
It’s fun to buy and taste new things. We made dinner ourselves with some pizza from the kitchen here at Villa Nottola.
And ofcourse some wine from the valley and area province Siena , where montepulciano is part of. We ended up buying the black labelled bottle from the photos, the gold was not from this region. I linked the website. After we tested the black bottle I will add what the wine tasted like to the comments in this blog.

The wines from nottola we tasted the first two days and I will make a blog when I seen the wine chambers and the cellars. We had to reserve a time.
We ate it at the veranda,
and played some cards.

The cheeses we had last night as a dessert plate all the local ones and I must say for a Dutch cheese head like me the Italian cheese is great aswell
I loved going to markets when I was in Italy. Looking forward to visiting many more of them in the future. Still waiting for some return of normalcy for that to be a reality again though.
The rules here are pretty steady and do able. We have to wear masks indoors in super markets and restaurants but all in al its very do able and nice. But I hope all will be ok again soon for the whole world
