Seasonal Words to Celebrate with

in The LIFESTYLE LOUNGE3 years ago (edited)

The magic of Christmas. So easy to get swept up in the mystery of it all - the sights, the sounds, the smells, and that enchanting ambiance. I inhale the sweetness of it, savoring the feeling. Magical.

Breathe deeply.

It’s just not Christmastime without the glitter. Good thing, because, once you release the urge to use sparkle, it has permission to follow you everywhere. Right now, I am living in the middle of a celebration of its glittery charm. Tomorrow, I will be walking around with a hint of glitter in my hair, on my clothes, or even on my face somewhere, the sunshine telling the tale.
'

Ah! The power of glitter!

They even sing about it. “Songs from How the Grinch Stole Christmas” has a song about a kitty that ate the tinsel on the Christmas tree. He could not resist a glittery Christmas tree. “It shines and glows and glitters on each bough, ‘cause tinsel is the holiday cat’s meow”

Oh, yes, Dr. Suess. I totally get it.

"Christmas spirit" - benevolence, magnanimity, even kindness. Behold! I thought this memory was long-ago extinct. While some of our memories may disappear, others remain, just like this one did, from my childhood and suddenly one year, it showed up on my tree. Welcome back. I missed you and will make new memories with you.

Christmas is coming. The presents are wrapped and ready for their place under the tree. A few have already made it there. But let us not rush too quickly into it. May we read the mystery of the season, the Christmas story, and discover its power. May we attend to the meaning of it all and to the challenge the story poses as to how we live and what we regard as important.

May I hear the voices of angels and follow the weary shepherds – the refuse, the forgotten, the cast-asides – and go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, and see it again as if for the very first time, if only in my dreams. Waiting is the hardest part, but it can be the best part too.

Glitter me almost done!

Ribbon and berries, holly and glitter, things that make my holiday shine. Oh, the joy! May your heart be filled with the joy of giving, as it is the expression of the love in your heart and the kindness in your soul.

There seems to be a disconnect between Christmas and gifts under the tree, never realizing that Christmas begins in the heart. "He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree." Roy L. Smith

Oh, Lord, let me lead in a joyful song, for my soul is singing His Praises.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

This was commonly referred to as the six days of creation...
Sigh... It was a long winter.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Some days, it is not as easy to see, just how wonderful it really is. For me, I try to do my part. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Shakespeare

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas.... I do so love it!

Beautiful ornaments as always and I never get tired of the packages with sparkly bows.

I don't have any wrapped presents yet. I am ordering things to go to the recipients homes. There will not be too many packages happily wrapped... but one day there will be again. I just so happened to have some mirror ball ornaments in red and silver and they are on the velvety red tree skirt under the tree instead, catching some of the sparkle from the turning tree and color wheel.

I'm trying to get some of the decor boxes stuffed back in the closet so I can see the floor in my bedroom again.... when I win the lottery that I don't buy tickets for, I am going to build a house with a room made for super accessible storage for things like this without all the mess through out the house. Maybe even a cart for taking out and putting back. Oh the perfect world I dream of. :)

What a lovely post. I am having trouble this year getting in the spirit but your ornaments and glitter gave my a lift. Starting tomorrow, decorating is priority #1
Thanks 🙏

The trees is up, the cheer starts flowing, your words alone are glowing Denise. At such a joyful time of the year we are only able to hope everyone sees the glitter....
