Caroline Toledo, acrobat and ariel performer
I have been so lucky to have worked with so many great companies in recent years, one of which is the Dublin Circus Project.
Dublin Circus Project is an arts council funded initiative that supports and trains performers here in Dublin, Ireland.
Each year they take a range of performers and offer them a residency where they can train and improve their skills with the aim then of being a fully supported circus troupe that take part in national events and then use their new learned skills to train the next generation of performers.
This year, street performances were arranged for the Uefa Euro's 2020 to happen this month and next, but due to COVID, all those events were postponed until 2021.
It really is a shame. As a photographer, I was dependant on that month as a nice earner to see me through until at least September and also for the performers who have worked so hard to create their sets and routines for the street performances.
Regardless, working with such an amazing and dedicated bunch of creative circus acts has given me quite an angle and what it is to be a bit of a clown and not take life so seriously.
After all, life is a stage and there is no rehearsal.
