It's time to clean house!

When we expect visitors at home, we usually put in a lot of effort to clean the house and make sure that it looks respectable when the visitors arrive.  When my sister in law comes to visit, it's like the lost son returned home.  It takes a week of cleaning and we have to make sure everything is perfectly correct because we want to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.

This takes a lot of planning and hard word from our side. Cupboards that haven't been moved in years, are moved and we clean every little spot that could be dirty.  It's like we look at everything with a magnifying glass, so that she can just be happy when she comes.

We do this because we love her, and she is an absolute neatfreak and obviously she has OCD.  It's not as if our house is dirty, but in time, and due to a lack of time, not everything is always perfect. We just learn to live with it, but when she comes, she will freak out and start cleaning, and that is exactly what we want to prevent. We just want her to rest and enjoy her time here with us.  It just makes life easier if everything is clean and we get to spend valuable time with her.

What if you knew that God was coming to visit you in your house? How much effort would you put into your house for this visit? Would it actually matter to HIM? I don't think so, but if you live in a dirty house, it means that the rest of your life is probably also not very clean.  We have so many issues, and time is of the essence.  We have husbands, wives, kids and parents to look after.  We often don't have the amount of time that we want to spend with God, and it is often either in the beginning of our day or at the end of the day that we spend a little time with God.

WE have so much time for others, and for worldly things, that we often forget about God and what He has done for us.  We sometimes put God on the backburner because we know He will understand.

God understands because He is compassionate.

God understands because He is not selfish.

God understands because He is patient.

God understands because He loves us.

God understands because He wants us to come to Him when we want to, and He doesn't want to force us.

How long do you think that God will keep understanding?

We only have so many chances in life.  God is forgiving and He will ALWAYS forgive us for our sins, but HOW MUCH TIME DO WE REALLY HAVE?

WE don't know what tomorrow will bring, so don't put it off for too long.  Don't be caught unprepared and ready, because if you do, it might just be too late.

In the Bible, there is a story about the rich man that died and he went to hell. He never cared about anyone except for himself.  Lazarus was a poor man and he struggled and was sick, but when he died, he was lifted up to heaven by angels and brought before God.

The rich man asked God to send Lazarus to bring him some water in hell, because he was in agony, and God said no.  The rich man begged God to send Lazarus to his family to make them repent, and God said that it was too late. This what he asked God after God declined his request.

27. ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28. for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ 29. “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ 30. “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ 31. “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ “

If you do not listen now, it might be too late.  Once it's too late, there is NO turning back.  Forever is a very long time!
