Once upon a time, there lived a very small kitten on a farm. She was the smallest of the litter, but she was also the bravest. The little kitten loved to explore the farm and sometimes imagined that she was a lion. She was not scared of anything.
One night the little kitten decided to go out to explore the farm. She sneaked out after her mother and siblings fell asleep.
What she didn't know was that the farmer let the dogs out in the evening to protect the farm. She knew that the dogs didn't like cats, but that didn't stop her.
She just left the barn when one of the dogs saw her and started to chase her. He knew it was his job to catch the kitten. For the first time in her very short life, the little kitten was frightened. The dogs were much bigger than her and she had to protect herself.
She ran as fast as she could and climbed up the highest tree.
The dogs barked continuously, but she stayed put. Eventually, the dogs just gave up and decided to leave her. Once the dogs left, the kitten tried to climb out of the tree, but she was too high up and knew she was stuck.
The little kitten sat there for hours unable to move. She became very thirsty and all she wanted was to get back to her mom.
She cried and cried but no one came to her rescue. The crying woke up the dogs and they came back to the tree. They started to bark again which frightened the little kitten even more. The farmer woke up because of the racket outside and went to check what was wrong. He smiled when he saw the little kitten in the tree and knew that he had to help her.
By this time the kitten was beside herself and was ready to protect herself from any danger. The farmer fetched a ladder and climbed up the ladder to grab the kitten.
The kitten felt anxious and didn't know that the farmer was trying to help her. She fought with all her might and scratched the poor farmer all over his arms and hands, but the farmer held on and grabbed the kitten and took her to safety.
The farmer's goal was to save the kitten. He didn't care about the scratches, he only cared to fulfill his goal and to deliver the kitten back to her mother.
Sometimes in life, we set goals for ourselves, and the second when something bad happens, or things don't go our way, we just give up.
It is extremely important to live with a goal in mind. Without any goals in life, life is not worth living.
Giving up is never an option. Perseverance and failure is the only way to success. Even if we pick up scratches along the way, we have to concentrate to complete our goal.
We only have one life to live, and we have to make the best of it. Never ever give up on your goals and dreams!
Don't be scared to take chances. There will be failures, but we learn from our mistakes.

Sweet story, @giantbear. I haven't read a story with a moral in a very long time! I was glad the farmer had a good heart and helped the kitten down.
