Crowded Quarantine | Venezuela Remains a Mission Impossible for Pandemic Theorists

Greetings, everyone

Even though I try to avoid unnecessary exposure and I am restricting the number of outings a week, it has become literally impossible to remain indoors at all times. Money comes to us in droplets. From different sources (works, friends and relatives) and it is never enough to cover a whole safe quarantine period.

I had to go to the market on Tuesday and despite all the "controls" the maduro regime has "implemented" this is the spectacle in public spaces:

Most people's little money goes into food. Basic cleaning/hygiene items such as bleach, sanitizers, alcohol, gloves, face masks, etc are out of the shopping lists.

I want to believe that the theory some offered about the virus not doing well in hot places is true; otherwise, how do you explain that for more than a months, since the first possible contacts of infected people in Venezuela, people have taken few to no precautions to avoid further expansion of the virus and we still have (at least officially) less than 100 cases and zero death?

It is either that or the virus is just taking longer to start doing its thing, in which case the next days will be very tense and possibly tragic. Venezuela lacks the minimum health infrastructure and personnel to face a health challenge of massive proportions.

I was unable to get a good picture of this bus, but it was full of people. I mean packed. Dozens standing, a couple hanging from the door.

All theories of social distancing and containment seem to have been designed for developed/highly technological countries, organzied societies, and highly efficient medical systems. My country does not fit into any of those categories. The combination of corrupt and inept government and desperate (and ultimately indiferent) people make us rely on either miracles or an armistice offered by the virus itself. Wait, that would fall into the miracles category.

How warm is it over there? Apparently the warmer the better for destroying the virus on smooth surfaces.

On average, we have temperatures around 90F and 75%humidity

With 90F that should help to burn the virus off smooth surfaces.

That's what I think must be happening

Then I am hoping for a miracle for Venezuela.
