I was listening to some old merengues. From Fulanito, a Dominian-American Band, Guallando, one of best songs if you are into dancing with energy and gusto.
Guallando became a hit in 1997, the year I graduated from college. I liked it so much that when I went to the States for Grad School (2001), one of the first CDs I bought was Fulanito's. I could spend the whole day listengin to this kind of tune.

Well, I'm almost sure this won't be your cup of tea... but I really need to share this one. Jinjer have been setting the bar ever higher with every album. Other Metal bands out there are all being relegated to a second league, now! 😂
Well thank goodness for the gap that "almost" afforded me :P
One of the things I have always loved about artists like Rob Zombie, Manson, Disturbia etc. was the CLARITY of their music. It is always DEFINITIVE, the beats recognizable and therefore enjoyable. I really liked this for precisely the same reasons... it was not a messy noise.

Probably one of the most underrated metal bands out there.
Maybe... In my mind, they're the best Metal band currently playing, by a really long margin. They make Metallica sound like Amateurs. 😂

I occasionally listen to 'not exactly popular' music. I love this by Robert Earl Keen. It's recorded at the Paste Studios. Their free music newsletter is really something, includes these sessions with various musicians. I recommend it. Robert Earl Keen, too.

We have a local musician who is very funny as well as being talented. He is called Vlad and is the self-styled dictator of Vladikstan (made up, of course, but has its own website so is definitely real). He runs a little festival every year down at the station car park! Last time he had a disco in a caravan about the size of that. Only 5 people allowed in at a time and there was a dress code! :)

I'll throw in a performance recording different to most of the entries. Classical pieces of music, but with quite a few elements in common with the (underground) electronic music; similar to the RAVE music that emerged in the 90s
