Resulta que el mes de Julio del año 2013 había un evento mundial de concentración juvenil con el Papa Francisco en Brasil y, como todos los jóvenes de entonces, yo también quería asistir pero no tenía el dinero y ya se habían acabado los cupos para poder participar.

La primera cosa especial que me paso es que me facilitaron el dinero y me consiguieron el cupo de asistencia y participación al evento, lo cual me enseñó que uno no puede nunca perder las esperanzas en sus sueños, deseos o metas porque la vida da muchas vueltas y aunque hoy la suerte o como la quieres llamar no esté de tu lado mañana tal vez sí. Por eso, dicen y es verdad: “el que persevera, vence”.

The first special thing that happened to me was that they provided me with the money and got me the quota to attend and participate in the event, which taught me that one can never lose hope in one's dreams, desires or goals because life goes around and even if today luck or as you want to call it is not on your side tomorrow maybe it is. Al llegar a Brasil otra de las sorpresas que me llevé es que fui acogido por una maravillosa familia con la cual a veces sigo en contacto (menos había tomado un pequeño curso de portugués, jajaja)

Esto para mi significó descubrir vivamente la bondad que existe en todo corazón humano, que cuando se da con generosidad y sin discriminación a los demás no importa cómo eres ni de donde seas siempre te harán sentir de tal manera que las podrás llamar también “familia”.

Finalmente, pero no por eso menos importante, me encontré con otra experiencia también muy especial para mí, y fue el encuentro con esa naturaleza tan hermosa que hay en ese país: las montañas, los ríos, los árboles, las flores, todo en general.

Me enseñó como la creación entera es la casa común de toda la humanidad y que donde sea estemos no deja de sorprendernos, admirarnos y acogernos como parte de sí.

Por otra parte, también creo que el amar las cosas propias no está reñido con tener un alma cosmopolita que nos impulse también a valorar cada lugar de la tierra que tengamos la oportunidad de visitar, ya que cada uno tiene su encanto particular, por ejemplo, éste de Brasil a mí me encantó por sus hermosos lugares naturales.

Finally, but not least, I found another experience that was also very special for me, and it was the encounter with that beautiful nature that exists in that country: the mountains, the rivers, the trees, the flowers, everything in general.

It taught me how the whole of creation is the common home of all humanity and that wherever we are, it does not cease to surprise us, to admire us and to welcome us as part of itself.

On the other hand, I also believe that loving one's own things is not incompatible with having a cosmopolitan soul that also encourages us to value each place on earth that we have the opportunity to visit, since each one has its own particular charm. For example, this one in Brazil enchanted me with its beautiful natural places.
