Largiloquent, Lithography, Lapidarian, Landing On Letter L

Feel Good Community Alphabet Hunt

Letter L.jpg

Largiloquent not being talkative, full of fancy words I prefer to use photography to tell stories about what I see or feel, without further ado, lets take a look at the Lizard family of which we have many living throughout the land in different shapes and sizes, not talkative either...

Drakensberg Crag Lizard I am not sure if these two are related or one and the same species with many photographs on the lizards, on research I found more reference to this name as being the common name in use. Drakensberg Crag Lizard

Lang's crag lizard (Pseudocordylus langi ), also known commonly as Lang's girdled lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Cordylidae. The species is endemic to Southern Africa. Lang's Crag Lizzard

Lithography an art of imaging using impression on flat stone or metal, photo-lithography (optical lithography) my husbands trade was using metal plates, an image transfer used in commercial production of newspapers, magazines, books, posters and greeting cards.

No photography from the old days of lithographic tools to hand, I share instead the Lion Dog or Rhodesian Ridgeback photography I took some years ago, this is Jodi and Rex together.

Jodi and Rex Chilling.JPG

Photography is often used in calendars run off for use, instead of photographing a calendar with the dogs I don't know, I prefer to share my two enjoying the garden some years ago.

Lapidarian Inscribed on stones, or in Latin a stonecutter. Growing up a friend cut and polished stones, lovely precious stones in all shapes and sizes, this is where I learned the name lapidary, some enjoy this form of gem collecting as a hobby.

8288Stones.JPG

The skill in lapidary involves knowledge of gems, studying them before cutting to obtain clean, pristine carvings whether using them into jewellery of into a collection of pieces.

8296Stones.JPG

Around the home I have a few collected or inherited over the years for fun, perhaps one day I will find time to learn more about them. I think these are White/Pink Quartz or Pink Cerrusite or Rose Quartz, Blue Beryl or Green Quartz, loads of either or neither when it comes to my knowledge on our local stones....

Lazy Winter mornings are a lazy affair, current furry friend Woody stealing my bed, never leave a bed for a moment....even for a pee...

I'm not lazy, I'm just very relaxed. Anonymous

Logic Birds alight a tree to sit on a branch, logically the bird sits on the branch of a tree waiting to see movement of an insect or worm scurrying beneath to eat.

Did this brown-hooded kingfisher take a liking to place himself/herself logistically in positions most advantageous to hunting food on the ground.

Is it the birds backyard or mine? My fine feathered friends looking for ideal spots, actually being logistical may not enter his/her head, food does. Now I am talking to him debating the lock down, look at the intelligent look, who are we to question how logical birds are or are not.

Latitude and Longitude Learning about specific places, planning journeys, finding it on the map we do need to know the Latitude and Longitude, when writing content about specific places use @pinmapple to have it added for others to find.

2461_MountainReflection.png

Landscapes offer learning about a region, giving precise direction today is most probably easiest using Latitude and Longitude GPS co-ordinates.

Your #alphabethunt is always poetic in one way or another @joanstewart...love it ! 😊

Thanks so much for visiting, delay in reply not having an internet connection currently. Now purchasing a little at a time to keep ticking over....

I love your take on the alphabet, Joan! @joanstewart

I forgot that Rhodesian Ridgebacks are Lion Dogs. I have a neighbor who has two and they are beauties!

Hands down, the most interesting words that you use. I may have to look up lLargiloquent. I can't believe I wasn't familiar with it. Boo me!

Another of my Mother's favourites, "you only largiloquent when you had a beer or wine", ha ha hands down better than me with word game, that is when she did become talkative.

Miss Jodi and Rex they really are superb dogs, I could have added the lion having seen them too, decided to twist it a little for fun.

People don't really use/refer to some words as often as we had around when young, now much is abbreviated or just no longer in use, fashions come and go!

Have a wonderful week, mine has been torrid so far, but hey I am still breathing and looking forward to more fun! Thanks for tip and up, always appreciated @dswigle

We used to purposely use words that were little known or little used. My aunts went with the lesser known choices, thinking back, they were always that way and still are. I am okay with that. Words have become a lost art.

How unfortunate! They have no idea what they are missing!

Art of writing making good use of correct words was done with pride by the older generation, a form of displaying being properly educated possibly. Needless to say the format was nib pen, ink well and paper always neatly written using blotting paper for any excess, yup those where the days!

Wow, you are always telling so nice stories with your words and photos, Joan 😁

I can't say what I like most, maybe your colorful Lizards, because ours are mostly only brown, or the not lazy dog, because it reminds me on our cat, which has died and slept often like the dog on our bed.
Your Landscape is different from ours, that's right, but it's beautiful 😀
The Kingfisher looks very cute.

Love to dabble with many things, truly a "Jack of all trades, master of none", English has just a wide array of words, between scrabble, a Mother who used unusual terms and peoples jobs over the years some tend to stick.

Thanks for enjoying this post and visiting once again to cheer me up with a !BEER (No sales here again on alcohol) and tip, really appreciated.

Haha, nice, but I really wouldn't say "master of none", you're doing great 👍😀

Yes, surely it's easier for you to find unusual words than for people from countries like mine, where we have other official languages, but we are doing best 😉

Somehow I can understand that they sell no alcohol because it makes people careless, but it also makes them calm down in such complicated situations. It's not an easy decision and I wouldn't want to make it.

English is my home language, Afrikaans is spoken/writen over here, however most would not get the gist of the words always, area we live in Zulu is most commonly spoken. South Africa has 13 official languages. Often one remembers an item by common names used realizing it won't work into an international community.

There are no straight forward answers in a world filled with disarray, stay safe and thanks for visiting, yeah yeah it's Friday, enjoy!

Yes, I know what you mean. We have only a few official languages, and I don't speak any except of German, but !BEER is Pivo in Slovenian and Birra in Italian ... "una birra per favore" 😁

Have a wonderful weekend and take care too 🙂
