Coastal Scenes Provide Inspiration
Street art or murals painted used to decorate our small little town were vandalized with graffiti, reason unknown!

Cleaning started in 2017 with volunteers from a variety of groups or local companies supplying materials, bridges and subways were high pressure washed, repaired then given a touch of paint with our traditional Sapphire Blue background. Paintings added over blue background with amazing detail depicting local scenery done by artists in the village.
Warner Beach Sapphire Coast Street Photography a post I wrote at the time presenting the fresh look, it was charming seeing our young artists enjoy the oppotunity of open canvas going into great detail.
CCC's Street Art Contest #35 may be running, it was seeing equisite art in one of these contests during the last week with @digi-me reminded me to go down!
Off we went down to the bridge not far as the crow flies. We call this the Hoot Bridge, Story goes that when early residents went under the bridge one could not see what lay on the other side, cars must have been relatively new to the area, ruling painted on the side when we arrived instruction said HOOT, so hoot you must, to this day.
Quirky little pieces of history keep things interesting, luck as it has it this bridge has been recently completed with a new theme, once again very local which makes it pleasing to the eye, visitors park on the main road and walk down to take in the detail.
Now I will need to visit the subway, and bridge over railway lines to see if they too have been repainted.
Villagers made concerted decision to tidy up, hopefully pride remains without being destroyed by misfits with nothing better to do than be destructive.
Street art or murals, whichever way you prefer to describe them have made drab old bridges come to life. These are all new photographs, link to old above shows how much additional work this young proud generation are defiantly protecting their coastal town with pride, it's a lifestyle choice!

Many people like to destroy for no other reason than to destroy. Such people should be locked up and obliged to make everything right again.
I like it when cities bring color into gray house fasades and walls and I hate it when some idiots destroy such murals no matte if they are real pieces of art or just colorized walls ... and I love the Hoot Bridge😁

Some drab walls have been brought to life, hopefully whoever is going around damaging these wonderful artworks eventually get caught, disciplined, made to do community service.
Teach people to live with pride in harmony, work is all voluntary, makes one proud that interest is being taken to make home town look good.

What shall I say, even if I don't like something I would never think of destroying the belongings or work of others, but some people just don't understand. Even punishment won't help I'm afraid.

Respect went out of the window years ago, plant something attractive on your pavement outside the walls of the home, _we all live behind walls lately), those who help themselves take the plants as well. Speaks volumes....
People have no respect anymore, their kids learn from them and show even less respect.

BEER.Catch them and make them clean all of the works that they damaged. Then fine them to do 3 months of community work. So many have an inner hatred of themselves and it refects in what they do in the world.
The paintings here look great and I read that the Chinese are going to build a mega city there on the south coast?

Lack of pride is flowing from the top down, when one loses their pride being demoralized to the extent they become abusive, they need to be reeled in.
Chinese debt trap will swallow Africa eventually, Africa wants everything modern, not being held accountable to work, sadly my Mother said this years ago! If African's think Apartheid was bad most infrastructure already destroyed, they have no clue what is coming down the line!

Well at least there is a lot of noise from the Zondo commision and the culprits are fighting back by degenirating the justice system. Can you imagine what will happen once the justice system is destroyed?
I read the Prasa debacle article this morning and the full destructive greed is detailed. Mind blowing how these criminals are still out in the streets and even re-appointed to lucrative government positions. And of course they all deny and plead innocence.
So, the poor shall continue to suffer and bei brainwashed with false promises.
Makes on want to puke.

Fighting among each other has been going on for ages, nothing will come of expensive commissions, what has been stolen will be swept under the carpet.
Richest bidder could come in grease palms take what they want sorry already been done! At this stage when the people no longer wish to regain pride, look after what is inherently theirs, rather disfigure and dismantle every working institution and steal, steal, steal! "No comment".

BEER.We the people simply have to band together and clean up ourselves, in other words take our cities and towns back and restore or clean up where we can! Wonderful project and so good to see Joan, we haven't been down that way for a while.

If you travel down this way be sure to go off at Toti using the old bridge, wall overlooking town when travel into Doonside is painted.
Further down the coast through Warner Beach, bridge going to beach is painted. subway in the middle of town done as well as Hoot Bridge a little further on taking you to Winklespruit beach. Lifesavers and other volunteers really have done wonderful uplifting art all along, it looks splendid!
It is so sad that some people are destructive.
Our city isn't too bad.
It's good the townspeople decided to clean up.

Monkeys are daily visitors through the gardens, so very much part of the area 😁
Some paint and some gifted artists can really change the appearance of what was an eyesore into something to admire. Let's hope it stays the way it is now, for years to come.
Hope it stays clear of vandals for a little longer than previous which only lasted a year! Wonder if they realize how much they resemble pests....
