The Alpha And Omega Kind Of A Community — A PowerHouseCreatives Contest

You ask me what is my ideal for a community? You don't?

Let's pretend you do ;)

I would compare my ideal for a community to a tree that grows through all worlds of hours.

Yggdrasil. The World Tree.

Or any such, depending on where your ancestors hail from.

A super community that encompasses all. With roots buried in the Underworld, or Niflheim and two other realms in the Norse mythology. With its core passing through Middle Earth or Midgard (and more). And with its top reaching the skies or Asgard and its neighboring realms of demigods and light elves. Connecting all so that they are in constant movement and balance. And the exchange of ideas. And resources. As a tree needs all its parts, so all its parts provide for the whole of it and more.

A large enough tree gathers moisture and soil upon and amidst its branches. If it is large enough, other saplings can grow there. Lots of creatures can live within and around it. A World Tree...can be a home for all.

A multitude of resources to draw upon.

A myriad of interests to be fed and a myriad of ideas to be fed back to the core and the roots of the community.

How can it work?

Once the superstructure has grown, the rest should happen naturally. Through the migration of dwellers and their thoughts, after those thoughts had become ripe in their free homes.

A community that rewards and benefits from multiple cases of symbiosis. Dwellers from different branches facilitate the flow of information throughout the whole ecosystem. They gain by helping others advance. Competition is without resentment and envy.

What do leaders do?

Starting initiatives and facilitating is already a lot. A mental kick here, a virtual slap there, to maintain a healthy level of activity.

And we need bees. Lots of bees. Finding and exploring niches. Some of them becoming leaders themselves. Willingly. Creating opportunities for others to follow. Willingly.

I've already come pretty close to what we all hope Hive to become. The ideal Hive is my ideal community. Only ours is in its early stages and it needs pushers. People who carry the heavy load and develop, develop, develop...

Until we have the grounds for others to just come, (and learn the ways of the Hive, and adapt, and fit in,...) and stay and develop, develop, develop. a better ring of worlds. Nine or more, as many as a World Tree could carry.

Not your kind of tree? Well, don't climb on it. You can still stay in the shade before you move along.

Take care! Stay away from Omega yet ;)

We are #posh on our tree, right?

I like the ideas you've put across. I'm just wondering how the superstructure is assembled and how its members are chosen.

Well, Nature does it naturally. With lots of patience and processes that put everything in its place. But how do we emulate that...that's a very good question ;)

A World Tree...can be a home for all.

That is a lovely idea! I think too many people feel out of place, disenfranchised, belonging nowhere. In the coolest communities, everyone is included.
